Pioneer Project

Plain City Police Chief Dale McKee talks with a Jonathan Alder student about the dangers of impaired driving. The Plain City Police Department has initiated what it is calling, Pioneer Project. Junior and senior participants receive classroom instruction about impaired driving and associated laws. After the classroom instructions, participants wear a pair of goggles that simulate alcohol impairment and go through practical exercises like a field sobriety test, ball toss and then a driving demonstration. Police are taking the program to several local schools and timing it to coincide with prom season and the end of the school year.
