On-street parking in the village will be affected in certain areas, highlighted on the map, due to street repaving. The repaving project is slated to conclude Nov. 20, depending on the weather. Until then, residents are advised to be mindful of no parking signs posted in affected areas. (Graphic submitted)
Plain City’s repaving program began Monday.
Administrative Assistant Heidi Baldwin said pavement repairs will progress throughout the village in the following order: W. South Avenue, Madison Street, E. South Avenue, Central Avenue, E. West Avenue, Park Street and W. Second Street.
She said milling is set to begin around Oct. 26 and will follow a similar order.
Milling will be followed by asphalt, then striping will take place during the last week of the project.
In a memo to council, Village Administrator Nathan Cahall said the project schedule submitted by the contractor indicates repaving will last approximately three to four weeks, depending on the weather.
Baldwin added that the goal completion date is Nov. 20.
Throughout the duration of the project, she said residents are encouraged to take note of temporary no parking signs that will be on the streets.
Baldwin said the Plain City app and social media pages will also be updated to alert residents of the project’s effects on parking.
