Plain City will be the place to be this weekend as the village celebrates its 200th birthday.
The Bicentennial Celebration will take place July 19 through 21. The festivities will have the theme “Plain City: Past, Present and Future,” offers a full schedule, including birthday cake and ice cream, fun activities for the whole family, food trucks, sports and. historical tours.
The weekend will also include several live music performances culminating Saturday, July 21 in Uptown Plain City with the “Rock the Clock” concert. The concert will include The Remedy from 5 to 7 p.m., and The Menus from 8 to 11:30 p.m.

The celebration will kick off Thursday, July 19, at the Plain City Farmers Market at the corner of South Chillicothe and Main Street in Uptown Plain City beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Activities will include:
-Free birthday cake.
-Free Bicentennial keepsake ornament, one per family while supplies last.
-Historical village tours at 4, 4:30 and 5 p.m.
-Face painting, balloon art and an interactive chalk art mural.
-Music by Arnett Howard from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
-Bicentennial proclamations by Mayor Darrin Lane and State Senator Bob Hackett.
-Presentation of the Uptown Plain City Organization’s façade grant to an Uptown business, and presentation of historical plaques from 6:30 to 7 p.m. for the clock tower restoration project.
-A basketball show by Janine Crevier-Yoder and family, of Plain City, 7 to 8 p.m.
Friday activities at Pastime Park will include:
-Food trucks, bounce houses, pony carousel rides, old time games and other children’s activities from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
-The Renegade Horse Show at 1:45 p.m.
-COSI interactive booths and RAMTEC technology display of Tolles Career and Technical Center from 2 to 8 p.m.
Historical music by Steve Ball at 2 and 4 p.m.
-The Terry Douglas Band from 7-9 p.m.
-The Ohio Village Muffins vintage baseball game at 7 p.m., with a Lady Diamonds baseball game at 7:15 p.m.
Saturday events at Pastime Park include:
-Food trucks, bounce houses, pony carousel rides, old time games and other children’s activities from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
-The Dublin Wind Symphony from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
-A time capsule dedication at noon.
-The Judes, Ryan Peters and Counter Point from 2 to 4 p.m.
-Bill Purk and the Muleskinner Band from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
