Deputies responded to the Union County Airport to investigate an aircraft that lost control and flipped over on the runway due to wind Thursday.
According to Union County Sheriff’s Office reports, the crash occurred at 10:37 a.m.
According to Union County Court Services Director Betsy Spain, the plane had landed on the runway when a strong gust of wind raised the right wing of the plane, causing the left wing to hit the ground.
The plane was then blown into a field where it flipped over.
The pilot of the plane, James Gray, 62, of Richwood, did not receive any serious injuries. Spain said he was the only occupant of the plane.
Spain said there were no charges filed as part of the incident.
