The utility bill due date for Plain City residents has been extended, following technical difficulties that have since been resolved.
According to a release from the village, last week the village experienced “technical issues with its automated meter reading technology provider.”
The issue caused the village to delay the printing and delivery of monthly utility bills.
Once the problem was resolved, bills were sent to customers with a revised due date of Sept. 22.
In a letter to council, Village Administrator Nathan Cahall said bills were sent out beginning Sept. 3 and “a small batch” followed the next day.
He added that village staff is meeting with its IT firm, billing software company and the radio meter reading firm “to make sure the issue we encountered… does not happen again.”
The village advised residents that next month’s bills should be sent out normally and payments will be due according to the usual schedule.
