The woman who led police on a multi-county chase after allegedly stealing from purses and using a stun gun to escape has been indicted.
SUBER
A Union County Grand Jury has indicted Madison Eunique Suber, 19, who is listed as homeless and from Lima. Suber is charged with one count each of aggravated robbery, robbery, theft, vandalism, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and receiving stolen property along with two counts of petty theft.
According to court documents, on May 24, Suber was in a Jerome Township restaurant and was seen “taking multiple items from purses.”
According to court documents, Suber allegedly took credit cards, keys, beauty products, cigarettes and other items from multiple purses.
Restaurant patrons confronted the woman.
“While attempting to get away from several subjects chasing her, Madison pulled a … stun gun, purple in color, from her purse in an attempt to aid in her escape,” according to court documents.
Law enforcement was called to the scene and arrived while the woman was still in the parking lot. Deputies saw Suber in a black Honda Civic.
Officials ordered the woman out of the car.
Instead, Suber allegedly put the car in reverse and repeatedly backed into a police cruiser, “to make room for her to get out.”
The woman was able to get out of the parking lot and onto Cosgray Road where she allegedly refused to stop, running red lights and getting into Franklin County.
“At one point, Madison stopped the vehicle, put it in reverse and rammed the front of my cruiser,” the deputy wrote.
Suber then allegedly put the car back into drive and tried to go through a ditch.
“I placed my cruiser against the driver side door of the vehicle to get her to come to a complete stop,” the deputy wrote.
The deputy was able to get Suber out of the vehicle, which police later determined to have been stolen in Columbus.
If convicted on all counts, Suber could face more than 21 years in prison.
Also indicted was:
– Richard Bartlett, 50, of 4968 Olive Branch Road, Plain City. Bartlett is charged with two counts of theft, two counts of breaking and entering and one count of petty theft.
According to court documents, between Sept. 18 and Oct. 9, Bartlett allegedly broke into several businesses in Jerome Township stealing lawn equipment and electronics.
If convicted, Bartlett could face as many as four and a half years in prison.
– Lee David Dennis, 31, of 390 Chestnut St., Marysville.
Dennis is charged with one count each of grand theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. According to court documents, on May 11, Dennis was spending the night at the home of a Marysville woman. He allegedly took her 2003 Honda Element without permission.
“Lee Dennis was stopped while driving the vehicle by Marysville Police Department units shortly after the vehicle was reported stolen,” according to court documents.
If convicted, Dennis could face as many as 36 months in prison.
