Triad Local Schools honored its top scholars during the district’s graduation ceremony recently.
Triad’s Class of 2020 valedictorian is Bailey Nicole Perry. Kendell Paige Hughes was honored as salutatorian.
The top ten were rounded out by Jacob Allen Simonelli, Carsyn McGuire Thomas, Gracie Mae Sheets, Sidney Grace Louck, Anna Ruth Nott, Gregory Michael Sizemore, Andrew Timothy O’Neal and Jordyn Nicole Unger.
Superintendent Vickie Hoffman said Perry has worked hard inside and outside of the classroom during the past four years.
PERRY
She received the Scholar-Athlete Award for three sports, all four years of high school. She attended the OHC Arts Festival for her artwork for the past two years. She was also a member of the National Honor Society her junior and senior year.
Besides academics, Hoffman said Perry was very involved in her school community. She was a member of the Student Congress, Spanish Club and Science Club.
She will be furthering her education in the fall at Ohio University where she will pursue a degree in digital animation and communications.
HUGHES
Hoffman said Hughes has been a hard worker and a dedicated student all throughout her high school career.
She received second-team, all OHC honors and the Defensive Fighting Cardinal award in volleyball for two years in a row.
For softball, she was second-team and all OHC two years in a row. She also received Defensive Fighting Cardinal and Offensive Fighting Cardinal recognitions.
She was a member of the softball team, basketball team, volleyball team, 4-H, Spanish Club, Science Club, National Honor Society, Student Congress, Project MORE and the prom committee.
She also held several jobs at Kroger, Mad River Mountain, babysitting and most recently at TRC.
Hughes will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall to pursue a degree in nursing.
