Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton announced the 2019 employees of the year at the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Detective Adam Haycox, dispatcher Tiffany Cook and Christy Heckel have been named have earned the honors.
“Adam, Tiffany and Christy are very deserving of this honor and I am proud of the fact that they serve our community whole heartedly every day,” said Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton.
Haycox has been named Deputy of the Year.
Haycox began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in June 2003. He is a 1992 graduate of River Valley High School and earned an associate degree in criminal justice from North Central Technical College in 1995. He completed Ohio Peace Officer training in 1996. He has served as a patrol deputy, as well as a public safety officer and is currently assigned as a general crimes detective in the investigative division. He is a member of the Multi-County Crash Investigation Team, which handles fatal vehicle, train and aircraft crash investigations. In addition, he is a member of the Union County Fire Investigation team and is a CPR, AED and First Aid instructor.
Haycox was nominated for the deputy of year award for his excellent work ethic, professionalism, dependability, and support of the Sheriff’s Office mission and vision.
Cook has been honored as the Dispatcher of the Year is. She began her career at the Sheriff’s Office in September 2017. Cook currently serves as a 9-1-1 dispatcher in the communications division. She is 2004 graduate of Straight Arrow Learning Center. Cook was nominated for dispatcher of the year for her dependability, excellent customer service, attention to detail, ability to remain calm under pressure and support of the Sheriff’s Office mission and vision.
Heckel, named Civilian Employee of the Year, began her career with the Sheriff’s Office in May 2017. She currently serves as an administrative assistant. She is 2000 graduate of Marysville High School. Heckel helps with multiple projects at the Sheriff’s Office such as Shop with a Cop and a Fire Fighter, the Safe Heroes Golf Outing, community fund raising cookouts and the annual turkey shoot. She was nominated for her cheerful and positive attitude, her reliability, attention to detail, and her desire to go above and beyond to help members of the Sheriff’s Office and the public.
