The United Way of Union County wants to be a part of keeping every student in Union County and Plain City well equipped with essential school supplies.
Last week UWUC staff delivered 50 collection boxes to area businesses and organizations throughout Union County to make sure this year’s school supply drive is a success.
Public collection sites include Parrott Implement in Richwood, The Richwood Public Library, Edward Jones Investments (Columbus Avenue, London Avenue and Scotts Farm Boulevard locations), McCarthy & Cox, Honda Marysville, Marysville Public Library, The Marysville Pool, Richwood Banks (Marysville, Plain City and Richwood) and The United Way of Union County.
Those who would prefer not to shop can visit the organization’s Amazon Wish List and items will be delivered directly to the UWUC offices to be included in the distribution of supplies to Marysville, Fairbanks, North Union and Jonathan Alder school districts.
Those interested in making a monetary donation for supplies can do so securely via UWUC’s website. Choose Learn United in the drop down menu online or send a check to the UWUC’s offices, specify school supplies in the note, and post mark by Aug. 9.
The collection will end on Aug. 9. All donations will be sorted by volunteers at the Central Ohio Youth Center and distributed directly to districts before the start of the school year. Those in need of supplies should contact their child’s school to learn more.
“We are grateful to the Elks Lodge and Midwest Express who have donated funding for the drive,” Corinne Bix, UWUC Director said.
