“Canine Warriors – Courage and Sacrifice, Always Beside You,” is on exhibit through Jan. 31 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force on the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton. The exhibit was designed by Ohio master craftsman and Marysville resident James Mellick to bring attention to the service and heroism of military working dogs and to be symbolic of the courageous sacrifices and wounds suffered during battle by their human companions and to raise awareness about their needs. The exhibit was on display in Marysville for a year. Since then, Mellick has added four new dogs. A family-friendly event featuring live military working dogs, Superhero Dogs movie, balloon dogs and more is being planned for the evening of Jan. 24.
