Donna Lee Fowler, 82, of Marysville and formerly of Florida, died Monday morning, March 8 at her home with her loving and devoted family at her side.
She had a passion for genealogy and family history, which led her to the making of Civil War Enactment Clothing in her shop, known as Donna Lee Sutlery. She was proud to have traced her family lineage back to royalty.
She was the very definition of what it meant to be a “lady,” and was kind to everyone she met. In her children’s younger years was known as the “cool mom,” and was the leader of two groups of Camp Fire Girls and the den mother for her son’s Cub Scout group. Most of all, she was a loving wife, an amazing mother, an awesome grandma, an unforgettable great grandma and a memorable great-great grandma.
She was born Oct. 13, 1938 in Hilliard to the late Alfred C. and Goldie Loree Holderby Skaggs. She was also preceded in death by a son, James E. Fowler Jr. on March 7, 1988 and a brother, James Shaw.
She eloped and married her high school sweetheart, James E. Fowler Sr. on May 20, 1955 in Richmond, Indiana.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jim; daughters, Deb (John) Goldsberry and Diane (Michael) Herd, both of Marysville; four grandchildren, Amy Love, Brandi Goldsberry, Tricia Diede and Krista Fowler; six great grandchildren, Dominick, Emily, Xavier, Tristyn, Bailee and Isabella; two great-great grandchildren, Grace and Liam; and a brother, Don (Bonnie) Skaggs of Largo, Florida.
Calling hours will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin promptly at 6 p.m. with Mark Miller officiating. COVID protocols will be followed at the funeral home.
