Linda J. Bayes, 77, of Marysville, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 15, 2018, at the Ohio State University East Hospital in Columbus, with her family at her side, following a brief illness.
She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Pharisburg United Methodist Church. Devoted to her husband, Bob, and their family, she achieved her greatest joy from being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A person of great artistic abilities, she enjoyed many types of crafts, from cross-stitching to scrap-booking. She would often make memorable keepsakes for the different bowling and golf banquets she helped with and attended. In addition to working on her different craft projects, she also enjoyed playing cards, traveling, bowling and being on the golf team, Women Swing the Blues, at the Blues Creek Golf Course.
She was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Kenton, to the late Thurman and Alma Gibson Fitzpatrick.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Robert D. Bayes, whom she married July 23, 1957; children, Laura S. (Brian) Tucker of Dublin and Bryan D. (Janet) Bayes of Delaware; grandchildren, Brianne (Jason) Rice, Greg (Jill) Tucker, Rachael, Christina and Robert Bayes; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Landon Tucker and Joseph Rice; and brother, Lowell Fitzpatrick and his companion, Helga.
Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ingram Funeral Home, where the Rev. Judy Cramer will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery near Magnetic Springs.
