Lynn Marlene Henderson, age 73, of Marysville, passed away peacefully Friday, December 31, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A dental assistant, she was an associate of James Cornett, DDS in Marysville for 20 years. A 1966 graduate of Bishop Watterson High School in Worthington, she attended The Ohio State University. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for over 50 years where she taught religious education for first communion, penance and sixth grade catechism. She also was a former member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Worthington. Lynn was a member of local women’s associations including, Woman’s Parliament (past president), Aletheia Society (past president) and PEO Sisterhood. A member and board member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, she served with Twig 2 and on the development council for women’s health. She was a volunteer in the Marysville school system as a room mother, teacher’s aide, pre-school helper and assisted with levy campaigns. She helped with capital campaigns for the YMCA swimming pool, The Jim Simmons Trail and as an avid tennis player, helped with fundraising for the City of Marysville tennis courts. She will be most remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandson, Jacob, was a part of her daily life since his birth. Lynn will be missed for her thoughtfulness in remembering her family and friend’s birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. She was born July 1948 to the late Joseph and Lucille (Campisi) Stoughton. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walter A. Henderson, whom she married in Lewiston, New York; two daughters, Cari Henderson and Christine Todd, both of Marysville; her beloved grandson, Jacob Todd; a sister, Diana Craig of Johnstown; a brother-and sister-in-law, Harry and Betsy Henderson of Florida; and many other relatives and friends, including dear cousins, Celeste, Larry, Dominic and Alex Guglielmi of Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Fr. Kevin J. Kavanagh will officiate and interment will follow the Mass at the church cemetery. After the cemetery prayers, the family will receive friends during a luncheon at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Life Center. The family requires that masks and social distancing be honored. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Union County Humane Society. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.
