M. Iolene Snodgrass, 94, of Marysville, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, Jan. 15 at Bluebird Retirement Community.
A woman of faith, she was a longtime member of the New Dover United Methodist Church as well as the New Dover WCSC.
Throughout her life, she was an excellent cook and is remembered for her homemade noodles.
She was born May 12, 1925 in West Jefferson to the late James and Marie VanGundy O’Brien.
She married H. Pearl “Pete” Snodgrass Dec. 3, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1991 after 46 years of marriage.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses Dorothy (Raymond) Herron, James (Sara) O’Brien, Hazel (Everett) McKenzie, Henry “Bud” (JoAnn) O’Brien and Rebecca (Lowell) Wilson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Barbara Snodgrass of Marysville; grandchildren Joseph (Tammy) Crozier and Susan (Mark) Kise; great grandchildren Elizabeth (Tyler) Huhn, Matthew Kise, Bethany (Alex) Mulcahy and Evan (Renee) Crozier; great-great grandchildren Jordan, Lillian, Emily and Annabeth.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Engle officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery next to her husband, Pete. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday.
In her memory, contributions may be made to Loving Care Hospice in care of the funeral home.
