Marilyn Ann “Molly” Cooper, 82 of Ostrander, passed away peacefully, Thursday May 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
Born March 20, 1942, in Ashland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard & Martha (Wicks) Aten. Molly graduated from Ashland High School and attended The Ohio State University. She worked on the assembly line for Honda Of America and retired after 20+ years of service. She was a member of the Ostrander Presbyterian Church for over 3 decades.
Molly was involved with Habitat for Humanity, the Scioto River Cleanup Crew, and the Mad River Mountain Ski Patrol. She loved to cook and enjoyed vegetable gardening. She had a strong love for nature and animals, even raising numerous racoons that ventured onto her deck. She was a talented and amazing quilter and was a member of several quilting groups; several of her quilts won awards at the Union County Fair, Richwood Fair and even The Ohio State Fair. Molly will be remembered as the giving, and selfless mother, grandmother, and sister, that put everyone first before her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons David, Todd (Cindy) and Chris (Jamie) Cooper; grandchildren Christopher, Lauren, Alex and Allyson; great-grandchildren Evelyn & Kaiden; sister Belva (Leon) Horn
Friends may join the family on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm at the Ostrander Presbyterian Church, 117 North Street, Ostrander, Ohio 43061, Where Pastor Greg Menssen will officiate funeral services at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Ostrander. Friends may join the family back at Ostrander Presbyterian for a Celebration of Molly’s life following the graveside services.
