Jesus received Michael E. Minshall into his loving arms on December 13, 2021. Born June 29, 1943, in Plain City, he was raised with his three sisters in Plain City, Ohio. He was a graduate of Jonathan Alder’s class of 1961. He married Mary (Lewis) on August 9, 1969. He and Mary raised their three children in Plain City. Mike was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren for their many accomplishments. Mike served proudly in the United States Army. He attended Urbana University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, and later earned an MBA from Central Michigan University. His talents were vast and spanned from working for Marathon Oil Company, City Manager of American Motor Corporation (from Cincinnati zone and Cleveland zone), and President and General Manager of Clifton Motors. He also was a retired schoolteacher for Columbus Public Schools and was an adjunct professor at Urbana University. He was most commonly known for his passion for cars. Mike took on his father’s business and worked at the family-owned garage (Minshall and Son), and later Plain City Automotive for 20+ years off and on. Mike finished his auto career working at his ‘retired job’ in quality control at Krieger Ford until most recently for 14 years. He was truly blessed to wake up early every morning and make a difference by continuously working. Mike had a strong work ethic, integrity, dedication, and love for his family and friends. Mike survived stage 4 cancer in 2016, and we are grateful for the five additional years. We are very thankful for the excellent care from OSU Wexner Center during that time. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis (Meeker) and Emerson Minshall. Mike is survived and loved very much by his wife, Mary, “his blind date of 1, Jan 1966.” They met a few weeks after his service in the Army. There are two versions of this love story. The one Mary explains and the details that Mike begs her classmates not to bring up. Survived by his children Stephanie Passamonte (Paul), Jessica Minshall-Rusanov (Svilen), and his son Erik Minshall (Tara). Grandchildren: Hannah Passamonte, Madison Helfer (David), Isaiah Passamonte, and Malakai Passamonte. Mike and Mary are expecting their first great-grandchild in April 2022.
