Richard Alan “Rick” Riggs, age 63, of Marysville, passed away at his home on Monday, April 29, 2024 with his devoted wife, Dawn, at his side.
In 2021, he retired from KTH Parts and Industries Inc. after 25 years of service.
He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, but had recently started attending services at New Horizons Baptist Church in Marysville.
A graduate of Fairbanks High School, he liked to travel and ride motorcycles in his younger days and traveled all over the country and visited all but five states while driving truck.
Rick loved to cook with Dawn and he was a master of the grill and smoker where he made many delicious meals for his family.
Rick liked birdwatching and built Dawn several little bird houses. They enjoyed resourcing their bird book to identify the varieties of birds as they watched together. Rick also loved his three loyal fur babies, Shyla, Gidgit and Greta, and they will miss him greatly.
He was loved and cherished by so many who knew him. His loving, peaceful, kind and gentle spirit was an inspiration to his family and friends.
Rick was born Nov 21, 1960 in Roseville, California to the late Patrick C. And Norma Rausch Riggs. He will be greatly missed by his loving soulmate, Dawn Dudley Riggs; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Betts of Cortland, Ohio and step grandchildren Sarah, Hannah and Joey; a stepson Dave (Katie) Schultz of Galena, Ohio and step grandchildren, Grason, Wyatt and Lila; a brother, Steve (Janet) Riggs of Ostrander and nephew Darrick (Lisa) Riggs, Springfield, Ohio; a brother Jerry ( Vicki ) Riggs of Hillsboro, Missouri, and a nephew Brendon (Jessica) Riggs of Blue Springs Missouri and a niece, Audrey Riggs of Ballwin, Missouri; and great nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.
In honoring his wishes, the family is planning a private celebration of life gathering at a later date.
