Robert R. Carson, 86, of Marysville, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, May 6, 2019.
He retired after 43 years of service as a civil engineer with Brundage-Baker-Stauffer Engineering.
He was born March 3, 1933, in Akron, to the late William R. and Olive R. McCamey Carson. He married Miriam L. Dellinger on Oct. 17, 1964, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
His nonjudgmental, quirky sense of humor put a smile on everyone’s face. He was an avid woodworker who built a small business called Lawn Furniture by Bo. He could also often be found tools in hand, building sets for Marysville High School musicals.
He was a loving and supportive husband to Miriam and enjoyed all of the adventures that went along with her career as a dance instructor and choreographer.
He also enjoyed travelling with his family. He visited places he never thought he would, including England, Belgium, France, Ireland and the Philippines.
He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Mary Dellinger, and brothers-in-law, Don Burwell, Gerald Dellinger, Merrill Nicol and Joe Burwell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Miriam, their son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tami Carson of Orange, California, a sister, Betty Burwell of Lebanon, Missouri, sisters-in-law, Donna Nicol and Phyllis Burwell, both of Plain City, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Union County Humane Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of Ingram Funeral Home, which is completing arrangements.
