Velma “Dolores” Snider, 93, of Marysville, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital.
She worked as a secretary for Fairbanks High School and in the production department with GM and Lazarus Collections Department in downtown Columbus. She was a member of Marysville First United Methodist Church and volunteered for many church and civic organizations.
She was born Sept. 16, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Charles Elmer and Phebe (Sullivan) Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bernard A. Snider, who died in 2006; son, Andy Snider; daughter, Pamela Hunter; sisters, Phebe Tinson and Janet Casey; and brother, Charles Edward Henderson.
She is survived by her son, Terry Snider; son-in-law, Jim Hunter; grandchildren, Jameison (Holly) Snider, Kaci (Russell) Waymonth, Jacckie (Dave) Bolin, Jill (Stephen) Bradshaw, Jennifer (Chris) Plantz and Rebecca Frey; great-grandchildren, Ian Bradshaw, Linson Bolin, Kinsley Bolin, Kenyon River Perry Snider and Harvey Allen Waymonth; sister, Clara Sue Traver; and aunt, Betty Ferguson
The Rev. Peggy Hoy will officiate a memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ferguson Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St. (Route 161 W.), Plain City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service at Mitchell Cemetery.
