According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was notified of a large tree branch in the eastbound lane of Route 161 east of Jackson Boulevard Feb. 24 at 4:23 p.m. The officer removed the branch.
An officer saw a silver 2003 Honda illegally parked on the south side of Alderwood Circuit Feb. 24 at 7:29 p.m. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and told to move the vehicle.
An officer responded to a residence on Shepper Avenue for a domestic dispute Feb. 24 at 10:14 a.m. The officer contacted the caller, who said he was concerned because the two subjects had been arguing since the previous night. A male subject agreed to leave the residence until both parties had calmed down.
An officer was sent to Fairfield Drive to investigate a possible burglary Feb. 25 at 9:51 a.m.. The officer checked the area bust couldn’t locate anything suspicious.
An officer responded to Converse Avenue for a domestic dispute. The officer met with both subjects. It was decided that the female subject would come back later and finish moving out of the residence. Both subjects were advised to call Plain City Police for a civil standby if needed.
An officer met with a resident on East Main Street to investigate a possible scam. It is unknown if the there were phone problems with the caller, or if the caller was legitimate. The resident said she didn’t provide personal information to the caller.
An officer noticed a Nissan Rogue with a man sitting in it on East Main Street near Church Street Feb. 25 at 11:32 a.m. The driver said he had pulled to the side of the road to use his computer before heading to Columbus.
An officer met with an employee at Civista Bank Feb. 25 at 12:24 p.m. A complainant said they had two checks cashed at their branch that were discovered to have been fraudulent. The officer obtained all the documentation that the bank had detailing the transactions.
An officer received an anonymous complaint about a vehicle parked blocking the sidewalk at Willowbend Circle Feb. 25 at 12:59 p.m. The officer met with a woman who said the vehicle belonged to her and she would move it.
Officers were sent to West South Street for a well being check Feb. 25 at 3:15 p.m. Officers met with the subject’s parents and told them about the complaint.
Officers were sent to the area of U.S. 42 near Alcott Drive to investigated a driving complaint Feb. 26 at 3:13 p.m. Officers saw a semi and trailer stopping on South Jefferson Avenue. Officers also saw smoke coming from the rear wheels of the trailer. The driver said he spoke to his boss, who would be sending out a mechanic.
An officer was on North Avenue when approached by a person Feb. 26 at 11:36 p.m. The resident told the officer about a strange odor in his resident and asked for help. While trying to find the source of the odor, the subject’s roommate arrived and said the small was coming from a crock pot that had been left on all day.
An officer was sent to North Avenue to investigate a dispute Feb. 26 at 10:25 a.m. The caller said his roommates were plotting to kill him. Officers spoke to the roommates, who said they were not plotting to kill the caller. The caller said he was moving out and started packing his property. He left the area on foot to wait for a ride.
An officer was sent to the police department to investigate a mental health incident Feb. 27 at 12:31 a.m. Dispatch said the subject was on station and asked to go to a safe place. The subject asked to go to Memorial Hospital for an evaluation. A medic arrived on scene and the subject voluntarily went to the hospital.
Officers responded to North Chillicothe Street to investigate a landlord/tenant dispute Feb. 27 at 8:55 p.m After arriving, the complainant said be believed his landlord had come to the residence and taken his keys, and placed his mattress outside. The officer collected a witness statement. The subject was told to look for his keys overnight.
An officer was met on station by an anonymous passerby Feb. 28 at 1:10 p.m. The passerby said he had found a parking pass lying in the road near the Plain City Animal Hospital on West Bigelow Avenue. The person gave the officer the pass and the officer contacted the company of the pass’ owner, who said they would make arrangements to pick up the pass.
An officer was on patrol near Fairfield Drive and saw the driver’s door open on a black Chevrolet Blazer Feb. 28 at 1:15 a.m. The officer tried contacting the vehicle’s owner, but couldn’t. The officer then tried closing the door, but learned that the door did not latch and kept opening back up.
An officer was asked by the Union County Sheriff’s Office to help a deputy with a building search on Corporate Boulevard Feb. 28 at 4:06 a.m.
An officer was contacted by a complainant Feb. 28 at 10:15 a.m. who said that she and her ex-husband recently had a dispute over visitation. The officer told the woman that he would document the complaint and also that the Police Department would provide extra patrol to the area.
