According to Plain City Police Department reports:
The officer was met at the Police Department by a complainant May 27 at 9:59 p.m. The complainant stated that she was walking past the subject’s house on Gay Street when the subject came out on the sidewalk and began verbally harassing her.
Officers were requested by Madison County Sherriff’s Office to check for a suspicious vehicle at Old Route 161 East May 27 at 8:30 p.m. The caller advised the vehicle was an Enterprise rental truck that kept driving up and down the roadway slowly. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. Officers then returned to patrol.
An officer responded to East West Avenue in reference to a domestic dispute May 28 at 6:36 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller who stated that he was in a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend, Lindsey Chamblin. Upon further investigation, Chamblin was placed into custody for domestic violence and transported to Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer responded to Foster Street in reference to a parking complaint May 28 at 6:25 p.m. The village administrator received a complaint that the subject was living inside a disabled white van parked in front of the listed location.
On May 28 at 4:52 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a possible injury crash on Route 161 East at Old Route 161. Upon arrival, the officer found that the crash was outside the Plain City corporation limits. The officer then requested dispatch to advise Madison County. The officer stood by until assistance was no longer needed. The officer then returned to patrol.
An officer was dispatched to Mike’s Pit Stop in reference to a patron that pumped gas and did not pay May 28 at 1:40 p.m.
An anonymous passerby met an officer on station May 28 at 12:55 p.m. He advised that he had found an Ohio license plate lying in the road on North Chillicothe near Noteman Road.
An officer observed a white Cadillac SUV pulling a black Utility Trailer traveling westbound on West Main Street near South Jefferson Avenue May 29 at 8:05 a.m. The trailer had no operational taillights or brake lights. The officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle operator, Christopher Lambert, and his passenger. After further investigation, it was found neither of them had a valid driver’s license.
An officer responded to Olive Branch Drive at the request of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office May 30 at 5:10 p.m. MCSO advised a young boy had wandered to the listed location and was unable to communicate with anyone to tell them where he lived. Once assistance was no longer needed, the officer then returned to patrol.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to a deceased feline in the yard of the listed location May 31 at 4:23 p.m.
An officer responded to North Avenue in reference to a noise complaint May 31 at 11:40 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with both parties. Both parties stated that they had been involved in a verbal dispute but that they would separate for the remainder of the night.
An officer was dispatched to South Jefferson Avenue in reference to a dog left in a vehicle May 31 at 4:10 p.m. The caller advised dispatch the small K-9 may be in distress. Upon arrival, the officer met the caller who was standing next to the vehicle. Upon checking, the dog did not appear to be in distress.
An officer was on patrol when the officer observed a suspicious vehicle at McKitrick Park June 1 at 11:39 p.m. The officer observed a green Kia Soul parked near the creek. The officer then made contact with two subjects, who were sitting by the edge of the creek. They advised they were enjoying their evening and simply having a conversation. Once the officer determined everything to be okay, the officer then returned to patrol
An officer responded to North Avenue in reference to a noise complaint June 1 at 12:36 a.m. The caller stated that the subjects inside the listed location were playing loud music. Upon arrival, the officer stood outside the apartment for several minutes but could not hear anything.
An officer responded to South Jefferson Avenue in reference to a suicide threat that was passed on by Franklin County Sheriff Department June 1 at 7:22 p.m.
An officer was dispatched to West Avenue in reference to turtle attempting to cross the street June 1 at 4:55 p.m. The caller advised that a large snapping turtle was attempting to cross West Avenue and he didn’t want it being run over. The officer was able to successfully capture the turtle in order to return it to a turtle appropriate venue. The officer transported the turtle to McKitrick Park where the officer released it into the river. The turtle successfully swam away and officer returned to patrol.
An officer responded to West Main Street in reference to a failure to pay June 2 at 3:05 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer met with an employee who advised she witnessed the subject get gas from the listed location and drive off without paying.
An officer was dispatched to South Chillicothe Street in reference to a non-injury hit skip crash June 2 at 9 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer met with the caller and his wife who advised he was driving his 2011 Toyota on West Main Street. As he approached South Jefferson Avenue, he attempted to turn into the turn lane to turn southbound on South Jefferson Avenue, the vehicle behind him, a 2005 black Ford, driver by Ted Miller, also attempt to turn into the southbound lane, well before the turn lane actually started. This caused the side passenger mirror of Miller’s vehicle to collide with Toyota driver side mirror.
An officer was on patrol when the officer observed a dispute on West Main Street June 3 at 11:05 p.m. The officer made contact with a male subject and female subject. The female subject was very upset. She stated that she cashed a client’s check at Mike’s Pit Stop, which bounced due to insufficient funds
An officer responded to West Main Street in reference to a suspicious person complaint June 3 at 10:46 p.m. The caller stated that a female inside the Marathon station appeared to be intoxicated.
Officers were dispatched to West Main Street in reference to an active fight June 3 at 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, the officers learned that a female subject was walking in front of the listed location and got into a verbal argument with three individuals.
An officer was requested by the Union County Sheriff’s Office to Industrial Parkway in reference to an alarm drop June 3 at 7:55 p.m.
An officer was on patrol when the officer observed a non-injury vehicle crash June 3 at 3:33 a.m. While on a traffic stop, the officer observed a 2017 silver Cadillac SUV traveling southbound on U.S. 42 south of Route 736 strike a deer crossing the roadway
An officer was dispatched to Weathervane Way in reference to a barking dog June 3 at 1:53 a.m. Upon arrival, the officer could hear a dog barking in the rear of the residence. The officer made contact with the animal’s owner who apologized and advised she had fallen asleep. The dog was brought into the residence. The officer then returned to patrol.
Officer was dispatched to South Chillicothe Street in reference to a neighbor dispute June 4 at 1:42 p.m.
On June 4 at 1:20 p.m., while refueling at Mike’s Pit Stop, an officer noticed a silver Ford pull onto the lot and park on the west side of the building. While inside, Officer observed the female, who had been driving the silver Ford, standing in line completing a purchase of a bottle of wine. She was swaying noticeably and when she spoke to the clerk, she slurred her speech. After further investigation female was placed under arrest and transported back to the police department.
An officer responded to Smucker Lane in reference to a possible theft June 5 at 7:39 p.m. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with complainant who advised the officer that he noticed that approximately 15-20 Oxycodone were missing.
An officer was dispatched to Village Boulevard in reference to a theft June 6 at 10:15 p.m. Dispatch advised the complainant was at the listed location in an attempt to get his wallet back from the subject.
An officer was dispatched to Dogwood Court in reference to a well-being check June 6 at 9 p.m.
An officer was dispatched to Carriage Drive in reference to a found canine June 6 at 8:47 p.m. Upon arrival, an officer met with caller who advised the officer that there was a small white/brown canine in her yard and didn’t know who it belonged to.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to a customer/employee dispute June 6 at 8:39 p.m.
An officer responded to Dogwood Court on the report of an unruly juvenile who was also threatening self-harm June 6 at 11:30 a.m. Upon arrival, the officer met with the juvenile and his mother advised the juvenile was mad because he was told not to play video games.
An officer responded to the Shell Station on South Jefferson Avenue in reference to tires that had been slashed June 6 at 7:15 a.m. Upon arrival, an officer met with the vehicle owner who advised that sometime overnight someone slashed the tires on her vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to South Jefferson Ave in reference to a 911 follow-up June 6 at 2:51 a.m. Upon arrival to the area, the officer located the man re-paving the parking lot at McDonald’s who advised his phone was in his pocket and the call was accidental.
Officers went to North Avenue in reference to a warrant service June 6 at 1:06 a.m. Officers had prior knowledge that Joseph Griffith had a warrant out of Delaware County for shoplifting. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with the subject who admitted Griffith was hiding in the bedroom naked. Officers then placed Griffith under arrest. While the subject was helping him get dressed, Griffith started going in and out of consciousness. Griffith then admitted to shooting three bundles of heroin into his arm while we were knocking on the door. Medics arrived on scene shortly after and Griffith was released into their custody. He was transported to the hospital. Delaware County was advised of Griffith’s status and location.
An officer was dispatched to South Chillicothe Street in reference to two juveniles that had thrown a pile of leaves on the caller’s front porch June 7 at 12:15 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer met with the caller who advised that he had attempted to make contact with one of the boys but he would not answer the door.
Officers were dispatched to South Chillicothe Street in reference to juvenile calling the Columbus Suicide and Teen Help Hotline June 7 at 1:41 p.m. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with the juvenile
An officer was dispatched to the area of Willow Creek Court and Buckboard Lane in reference to a barking dog complaint June 7 at 2:38 p.m.
An officer was requested by the Union County Sheriff’s Office to respond to Memorial Drive to back up their unit on an activated alarm June 7 at 5:06 p.m. Once assistance was no longer needed, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer received a voicemail at the police department in reference to a suspicious vehicle/person June 7 at 7:51 p.m.
An officer was dispatched to the area of South Jefferson Ave in reference to a driving complaint June 7 8:39 p.m.
An officer responded to the area of East First Avenue in reference to a suspicious person complaint June 7 at 10:41 p.m. The caller stated that he observed a subject walking in the roadway who appeared to be intoxicated.
An officer responded to Converse Avenue in reference to a possible mental health issue June 7 at 5:46 a.m.
An officer responded to the area of Dickens Lane in reference to a solicitor’s complaint June 8 at 4:25 p.m. The caller stated that he was remotely alerted via a front door camera that a male dressed in grey had rang his doorbell multiple times and appeared to be soliciting.
An officer dispatched to Murlay Drive in reference to the theft of a credit card June 8 at 10:39 a.m.
An officer was on routine patrol at Pastime Park when a resident camper flagged the officer down June 8 at 6:50 p.m. The complainant advised that he was in an argument with his son because the son was not following the wishes and the discipline set up for him.
An officer was dispatched to Shepper Avenue in reference to a civil standby June 8 at 7:31 p.m. The caller wished to get his property at the listed location and wanted a standby because he was afraid of his girlfriend.
Officers were dispatched to the no name alley between Shepper Avenue and North Chillicothe Street in reference to a suspicious person June 8 at 7:45 p.m. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with Anthony Sullivan, who was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Sullivan was issued a summons for possession.
Officers were requested to conduct a civil standby at Shepper Avenue June 8 at 8:47 p.m.
On June 8 at 10:07 p.m., an officer was met at the police department by complainants who advised that they believed their daughter and her boyfriend were Shepper Avenue in a verbal argument.
On June 8 at 4:42 a.m., an officer was advised by a passerby of a possible crash on U.S. 42 near Route 736. The caller stated that an SUV was parked with its hazards on near Route 736 with debris in the roadway.
An officer observed a black van traveling northbound on U.S. 42 near North Chillicothe Street June 9 at 12:02 a.m. The vehicle registration returned to Kenneth Mounts and showed it was expired as of 04-24-2019
An officer was dispatched to Cooper Lane in reference to an overdose June 9 at 1:40 p.m.
An officer was dispatched to Buggywhip Lane in reference to a civil standby June 9 at 6:59 p.m.
An officer was on patrol when the officer made contact with the business owner at Mike’s Pit Stop in reference to bad checks June 9 at 10:46 p.m.
An officer responded to Converse Avenue in reference to a noise complaint June 9 at 11:13 p.m. The caller stated that their neighbor had been revving the engine to a truck.
