According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer responded to the area of East Main Street and South Chillicothe Street in reference to a non-injury crash at 9:49 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27. Upon arrival, the officer learned that Sean Donovan was traveling westbound on East Main Street in a blue Hyundai. Donovan’s vehicle struck the passenger side of a tan Ford Crown Victoria which was already in the southbound turn lane. Donovan was issued a citation for reasonable control and his vehicle was secured at the scene. Donovan said he would change the flat tire the following day and move the vehicle. The officer then returned to patrol.
An officer responded to Willowbrook Court in reference to a harassment complaint at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller, who stated that his ex-girlfriend was sending him constant text messages in reference to their son. The caller requested the officer make contact with the ex-girlfriend and advise her to not contact him further unless it is directly about their son and to keep the conversation civil. The officer then made contact with the ex-girlfriend, at her residence. The officer advised the ex-girlfriend of the complaint. She stated that she had not texted the caller unless it was about her son and stated that in the future she would remain more civil. After answering several of the ex-girlfriend’s custody questions, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer responded at to a disabled vehicle after observing a vehicle on the lot of Bob’s Better Repair that was sitting partially in the roadway at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The officer observed that the vehicle was unoccupied, blocking part of the southbound land. Due to the heavy rain, the officer provided traffic control until the rain subsided. The officer then made contact with the vehicle driver who was inside the business. The driver advised the officer that the vehicle had a fuel problem and would not run. The officer then returned to the vehicle and found it was leaking diesel on the pavement. The officer requested dispatch to have fire personnel respond to the scene. Upon the arrival of Engine 261, they put floor dry down to soak up the fuel. The officer stood by on scene and assisted the tow company with traffic control to get the vehicle loaded. The officer later returned to patrol.
An officer was dispatched to the area of the Frontier Building on East Main Street for a well-being check in reference to a male slumped over in the seat of a silver pickup truck at 3:34 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27. Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle and made contact with the driver and only vehicle occupant. The driver advised the officer that he was okay, he just needed to stop and rest for a few minutes before continuing on. Upon determining everything to be okay, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer responded to Converse-Huff Road to assist another agency at the request of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an alarm drop at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Once assistance was no longer needed, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer responded to South Jefferson Avenue for a 911 follow-up at 7:42 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The officer checked the interior of the McDonald’s and all patrons and employees advised they did not call 911. The officer also checked the exterior of the parking lot and did not see anything out of the ordinary. The officer them returned to patrol.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street in reference to a breaking and entering complaint at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Upon arrival, the officer met with the caller who had advised that he had just discovered that an unknown person had entered Red Door BBQ after hours and had stolen a cash drawer.
An officer was requested by Ohio State Highway Patrol to assist a trooper with a traffic stop on South Jefferson Avenue at 9:19 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29. Once assistance was no longer needed, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer met with the Plain City Parks Director on North Chillicothe Street in reference to a subject who wouldn’t keep his canine on a leash at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29. The officer advised the subject of the complaint and told him that his canine must be on a leash at all times while in public. The subject apologized and said they would keep the canine on a leash. The officer then returned to patrol.
An officer was on patrol when they observed a suspicious person or vehicle near the basketball courts at North Chillicothe Street at 3:13 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with all parties. All parties were advised of the park hours and left the area. After determining everything to be fine, the officer returned to patrol.
