The Plain City Public Library, 305 W Main St., is urging residents to register for the Summer Reading Program to win great prizes for reading over the summer months.
The Maiming of the Shrew Mystery Game Night will be held Wednesday, July 17 at 7 p.m.
In this “How to Host a Mystery” game, renowned playwright William Sheepsheare has invited guests to the Glib Theatre for a grand event, but before the revelry commences, the party turns deadly.
Guests will assume the role of a suspect or interrogator to solve this Elizabethan murder most foul.
Due to the mature subject matter this program is open to registrants ages 18 years or older.
This program is free but registration is required. Light refreshments will be served. Costumes are very much appreciated but not required.
Constellation Viewers and Virtual Reality will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 19. Participants will be able to create a star viewer to see star formations through a punched “sky.” Participants will also have the chance to use virtual reality to get an up-close look at many of these constellations.
This program is for children ages 8 and older and registration required.
The Read the Book! discussion group will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, July 22. The group will discuss Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.
Originally published in 1990, the book is a collaboration between two award winning novelists — Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
Their fantasy novel follows a 6,000 year old friendship between an angel and an demon and the lengths they’ll go to thwart Armageddon.
However, their plans go awry when the baby Antichrist is accidentally misplaced. Neil Gaiman adapted the book for an Amazon mini-series that premiered in May.
The group is offers a relaxed and casual discussion of this book. Participants are invited to bring their own favorite K-cup or enjoy one of the library’s.
