According to Plain City Police Department reports:
Officers responded to Route 161 in reference to a non-injury crash at 1:47 a.m. Jan. 3. The driver advised she had fallen asleep, which caused her to hit the guardrail on both sides of the road. Kirby’s arrived on scene to tow the vehicle to their impound lot. The driver was cited for failure to control. A family member arrived on scene and drove the individual home.
An officer was dispatched to West Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Jan. 3 in reference to a boat parked in the right-of-way. Upon further investigation, the boat was parked in the public right-of-way. The owner was advised she needed to move the boat. She said she would make arrangements to have the boat moved.
An officer responded to Fanshell Drive at 3:41 p.m. Jan 3 in reference to an interior alarm drop. After observing the residence to be secured and noting there were dogs moving throughout the house, the officer deemed nothing to be out of the ordinary. The officer attempted to contact a keyholder but was unsuccessful.
An officer was dispatched to Country Place Lane at 4:55 p.m. Jan 3 in reference to a 911 follow-up. After deeming that it was accidental, the officer determined everything to be OK.
An officer was dispatched to Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street at 1:53 a.m. Jan. 2 in reference to a suspicious person/vehicle. The occupants advised they were waiting to do a custody exchange. The officer learned that neither party had a valid driver’s license and advised the parties to remain parked until they could arrange for a valid driver. The officer advised them of the possible consequences if they were found driving.
An officer responded to Lantern Lane at 11:16 a.m. Jan. 2 in reference to a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised that it was an accident and everything was fine.
An officer was dispatched to Foster Street at 9:20 p.m. Dec. 31 in reference to possible yelling and screaming. After further investigation, the officer learned that an individual was upset about dogs being at the location but calmed down prior to the officer’s arrival. The officer advised if there were any other issues to call the police department.
Officers found a door propped open at Daily Needs Assistance on West Main Street at 2:17 a.m. Dec. 30. Officers searched to building and located a bed with a blanket, pillows and some food wrappers. A keyholder was contacted and arrived on scene. After a complete search of the building, nothing else was found. The door was secured.
An officer responded to West Main Street at 7:49 p.m. Dec. 30 in reference to a 911 follow-up. The officer was advised that it was an accident and that everything was fine.
An officer was dispatched to assist the Pleasant Valley Fire Department with a lift assist on Country View Lane at 9:01 p.m. Dec. 30.
An officer observed a red Ford F-150 sitting at Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street at 12:51 a.m. Dec. 28. The officer made contact and was advised the driver pulled over to use the phone. The officer deemed everything was OK.
An officer was dispatched to West Main Street at 2:06 p.m. Dec. 28 in reference to a loose dog that a citizen had captured. The officer met the citizen and transported the dog to the Union County Humane Society.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 6:24 p.m. Dec. 28 in reference to a trespassing complaint. The officer contacted the subject, advised him that he is officially trespassed from the residence and of the possible consequences if he returns.
An officer was requested by the Tri-County Regional Jail to make contact with a subject on East South Street at 6:56 p.m. Dec. 28 to relay a message. Once the message was delivered, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer received a report of an unruly juvenile on North Avenue at 12:01 a.m. Dec. 27. A report was taken and an ongoing investigation is pending.
An officer was dispatched to Ferguson’s Funeral Home on East Main Street at 5:51 a.m. Dec. 27 in reference to a 911 follow-up. The officer deemed no emergency had occurred.
An officer observed an unknown vehicle had struck a fire hydrant on Noteman Road at 9 a.m. Dec. 17. The Plain City Public Works department was contacted, arrived on the scene and found no damage to the hydrant’s operation. The officer canvassed the area looking for a vehicle with front end damage but was unable to locate the vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 9:25 a.m. in reference to possible threatening messages. After further investigation, none of the messages were threatening or criminal in nature. The officer advised the caller not to have contact with the individual sending the messages.
An officer was dispatched to Willow Creek Drive at 1:25 p.m. Dec. 27 in reference to a 911 follow-up. The officer deemed no emergency had occurred.
An officer responded to Gray Street at 2:41 p.m. Dec. 27 in reference to a loose black canine in the area. The officer canvassed the area but was unable to locate the canine.
An officer received a report of a suspicious black sedan on the corner of Nighthawk Drive and Converse Huff Drive at 11:24 p.m. Dec. 27. The officer canvassed the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to Cooper Lane at 4 p.m. Dec. 26 in reference to a parking complaint. There were two vehicles parked illegally in a no parking zone. Contact was made with the vehicle owners and the vehicles were moved without incident.
An officer was dispatched to Converse Drive at 3:14 p.m. Dec. 26 in reference to a loose dog complaint. Upon arrival, an officer located a black greyhound-mix dog wandering around the neighborhood. Several attempts were made to try to capture the dog but it was extremely skittish. The dog disappeared between two houses and the officer canvassed the area but couldn’t locate the dog.
An officer observed a vehicle pull up to a house under construction on Madison Way at 3:05 p.m. Dec. 26 and walk inside. Upon further investigation, it was an employee of the construction company. It was learned that the individual did not have a valid driver’s license and had a suspended license. The driver was cited for the traffic offenses.
Officers were dispatched to Central Avenue at 9:41 a.m. Dec. 26 in reference to verbal argument that turned physical. After further investigation, the parties were arguing over an incident that occurred the previous day. During the argument, one party pushed the other party, causing him to fall. No one wanted to pursue charges. The parties were separated.
Officers found an open door at Domino’s Pizza on West Main Street at 2:12 a.m. Dec. 26 and conducted a search of the building. After deeming nothing out of the ordinary, officers secured the door.

An officer met with an individual at the Plain City Municipal Building at 11:47 a.m. Dec. 25 in reference to a vehicle possibly following her. The complainant advised a maroon SUV had followed her from Dublin and pulled in the Hydro Spray when she pulled into the police department lot. The officer canvassed the area, including the Hydro Spray lot and did not locate a maroon SUV anywhere. The officer relayed the information to the complainant, who thanked the officer and left the building.
An officer was requested to meet with an individual at the Plain City Municipal Building at 6:38 p.m. Dec. 25 in reference to a custody exchange.
An officer was dispatched to Central Avenue at 10:20 a.m. Dec. 25 in reference to a driving complaint. The caller advised there was an older, unknown make and model white van with a ladder rack driving the wrong way. The officer canvassed the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to Converse Drive at 9:27 a.m. Dec. 25 in reference to an alarm drop. The officer deemed everything to be OK.
An officer responded to Nighthawk Drive at 10:18 p.m. Dec. 25 in reference to a brown and white coon dog that was found. A short time later, the dog owner was located and the dog was released to her. She was advised of the possible consequences if it happened again.
An officer was dispatched to Bob’s Better Repair on North Chillicothe Street at 11:59 p.m. Dec. 24 in reference to a suspicious person/vehicle at the listed location. After further investigation, the individuals had permission from the property owner’s son to retrieve firewood from the location.
Officers were dispatched to North Avenue at 2:49 p.m. Dec. 24 in reference to a domestic dispute involving family members. After speaking to all parties, they advised the officer they would remain calm for the rest of the evening.
An officer was dispatched to Fanshell Drive at 10:51 a.m. Dec. 24 in reference to a 911 follow-up. The caller advised the officer it was accidental.
Officers were dispatched to North Avenue at 8:06 p.m. Dec. 23 in reference to a trespass/burglary. The caller advised an intoxicated male forced his way in and tried to start a fight with the residents. However, the male eventually vacated the apartment. Upon arrival, the officers located the man, Garold Hamm, walking down the street. Hamm was subsequently charged with burglary and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
