According to Marysville Police Department reports:
The Marysville Police Department is looking into suspicious activity reported by a sixth grade Creekview student earlier this week.
According to the student, a man approached him after the student got off the bus in the Walker Meadows neighborhood. The man asked for a lighter, to which the student replied he had one at home.
Police have not yet interviewed the student, but Brooks said he believed the incident happened Tuesday.
While nothing has been determined, Brooks said authorities believe the man was a contractor working at a nearby construction site who was either joking with the student, or legitimately wanted a lighter.
