According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was dispatched to Central Ohio Auto Body and Repair on Commerce Place at 11:25 a.m. March 1 in reference to an alarm drop.
While on routine patrol, an officer observed the mailbox at a residence on Michael Street was open at 11:20 p.m. March 1.
Officers responded to Carlisle Avenue at 5:54 p.m. March 1 for a well-bring check.
An officer observed a white Chevy parked on the Shell parking lot on South Jefferson Avenue at 12:42 a.m. Feb. 28. The subject stated that she struck a deer on U.S. 42 south of the corporation limits and she was waiting at the listed location for a Madison County deputy. The officer confirmed with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office that a deputy was on the way to take the report.
An officer responded to a direct complaint of a loud motorcycle in the area of Willowbend Circle at 2:36 p.m. Feb. 28. The officer made contact with the motorcycle owner. The motorcycle owner agreed not to rev the engine loudly.
An officer responded to Alderwood Circle at 9:04 p.m. Feb. 28 in reference to a well-being check. The subject agreed to be voluntarily transported to the hospital to be evaluated. A medic arrived a short time later and transported the subject to the hospital.
An officer was on patrol and observed three males riding mini dirt bikes along the north side of the fence on Central Avenue at 2:59 p.m. Feb. 27. All dirt bikes were unregistered. All parties involved were given a warning and advised not to go on private property.
Officers responded to an alarm drop at Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 8:37 p.m. Feb. 27.
Officers responded to an open door at Sweet Dreams Salt Therapy on West Main Street at 3:43 a.m. Feb. 26.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 10 a.m. Feb. 26 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer responded to West Avenue at 1:41 p.m. Feb. 26 in reference to a delivery truck causing damage to a yard. Ambrocio Gamez was cited for driving upon street lawns or curbs and advised of his court date. The homeowner was provided the insurance information provided by Gamez.
An officer received a call from a complainant at 2:10 p.m. Feb. 26 in reference to a possible protection order violation. The officer spoke with the Madison County Prosecutor about the incident, who advised that they would not pursue criminal charges in this case, but any future contact should not be tolerated. All parties were made aware of the prosecutor’s opinion.
An officer responded to Weathervane Way at 3:38 p.m. Feb. 26 in reference to a parking complaint. Upon arrival, the officer observed a white GMC Sierra parked too close to the fire hydrant in front of the listed location. The vehicle was moved.
An officer was advised by the owner of Mike’s Pit Stop on West Main Street that a theft occurred at his business at 4:31 p.m. Feb. 26. The officer made contact with the suspect and advised the suspect to arrange a time to pay the amount back or they would be charged with theft.
Officers responded to Plain City-Middleburg Road at 11:11 p.m. Feb. 26 in reference to a felony warrant. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office had a felony warrant on indictment for Michael Wampler for aggravated possession of drugs stemming from a Plain City incident. Wampler was later placed into custody and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
An officer responded to South Chillicothe Street at 2:54 a.m. Feb. 25 in reference to a complaint of a sexual assault. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the reporting party, who advised the officer the incident occurred in the City of Delaware. The officer advised the Delaware City Police Department of the incident. DPD advised they would have an investigator call the reporting party in the morning.
An officer was met on station at 1:10 p.m. Feb. 25 by a complainant who advised that she received a credit card via U.S. Mail. After speaking with the bank, the complainant learned that she was possibly the victim of a pandemic unemployment scam. Prior to arriving at the police department, she had already contacted the Department of Job and Family Services and filed a claim regarding the fraudulent unemployment. The complainant requested a police report to document the incident.
An officer was dispatched to East Main Street at 8:28 p.m. Feb. 25 in reference to a missing person. As the officer was conducting follow-ups, the complainant called back and advised that she had heard from the missing person.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high speed on West Main Street near Lil e’s Ice Cream at 9:39 p.m. Feb. 24. The officer confirmed the driver’s speed with a moving radar as 38 mph in a posted 25 mph zone. The juvenile driver was cited for speed, no driver’s license, non-compliance suspension and juvenile traffic offense. The mother of the juvenile advised she would return to the listed location later that night to retrieve the vehicle.
An officer was dispatched to Grant Avenue at 8:23 p.m. for a 911 follow-up.
An officer was dispatched to Fairfield Drive at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24 regarding a dispute between the complainant and the complainant’s landlord. The officer informed the complainant that it was a civil issue and the complainant needed to contact an attorney.
An officer was dispatched to a non-injury crash on East Main Street at 10:12 a.m. Feb. 24. Nicodeme Raymond was issued a citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
An officer conducted a routine registration check on a maroon Buick near South Jefferson Avenue at 11:11 p.m. Feb. 24. The registration returned to a suspended driver. The officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle driver, Tyler Feucht, and the front seat passenger. It was later found that Feucht had a suspended driver’s license. He was issued a citation for no valid operator’s license and non-compliance suspension. Feucht also had an active warrant out of the Ohio State Highway Patrol/Franklin County for failure to appear on a traffic offense. Feucht was placed into custody and transported to Costco, where an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper took custody of him. The passenger stayed on the scene and waited for a valid driver to pick her and the vehicle up.
Police responded to an open door at The Silo on West Main Street at 3:08 a.m. Feb. 23.
An officer was requested to assist the Pleasant Valley Fire Department on Church Street at 8 p.m. Feb. 23 because a young juvenile fell and possibly hit his head while no adults were present.
Police responded to an alarm drop at Der Dutchman on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:39 p.m. Feb. 23.
An officer was dispatched to Maple Court at 4:13 p.m. Feb. 23 regarding a loose canine. The officer made contact with the canine owner. The officer advised the canine owner that this was her final warning and if the dog gets out again and chases people, she will be cited. The canine owner said she understood.
Police responded to McDonald’s on South Jefferson Avenue for an open door at 2:26 a.m. Feb. 22.
An officer was dispatched to a parking complaint at the intersection of Warrenton Drive and Hundley Court at 2:45 p.m. Feb. 22. The vehicle was moved before the officer arrived.
Officers responded to Cooper Lane at 2:01 a.m. Feb. 22 for a suicide attempt. The subject advised he would willingly receive treatment at the hospital. He was escorted there by a medic.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 1:32 p.m. Feb. 22 in reference to a drug complaint. The caller advised he witnessed a maintenance worker in camouflage clothing smoking drugs in a shed behind the listed location. The suspect admitted to smoking marijuana in a glass bowl. The suspect handed the officer the glass bowl, along with a small container of marijuana. The suspect was given a warning and advised to use better judgment.
