According to Union County Sheriff’s Office officials, a North Union Elementary student was found to have a knife in school earlier this week. According to Chief Deputy Tom Morgan, the student had forgotten he had the knife in his possession. The knife was confiscated and the student suspended.
“There was no threat,” said Morgan.
Deputies responded to Route 47 near McMillen Road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2005 Ford Escape that drove off the road, into a ditch, and struck a fence post Wednesday at 5:27 a.m.
A deputy went to the Butler County Jail to take custody of Regina L. Childers, 39, of Fairfield, for an outstanding arrest warrant Wednesday at 7:09 a.m. She was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
A deputy responded to the intersection of U.S. 42 and Watkins Road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2000 Buick Regal that struck the back of a 2014 Freightliner Semi Wednesday at 7:21 a.m. The driver of the Buick, Amanda R. Wyatt, 30, of Delaware, was issued a traffic citation for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
A deputy responded to the 21000 block of Main Street in Raymond to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2014 GMC Sierra that struck a 2001 Ford Taurus Wednesday at 11:40 a.m.
A deputy went to the Wyandot County Jail to take custody of Tobias J. Hilz, 34, of Upper Sandusky, for an outstanding arrest warrant Wednesday at 12:11 p.m. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Deputies investigated a property damage crash on Route 161 near Debolt Road involving a 2010 Ford F-150 that struck a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan and then left the scene Wednesday at 12:40 p.m. After further investigation, the driver of the Ford truck was found at a nearby residence. The driver, Robert M. Kleiber, 60, of Plain City, was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence and failing to stop after an accident. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
A deputy investigated identity theft that occurred at a residence in the 32000 block of Cobb Harriman Road involving a utility account Wednesday at 3:22 p.m.
A deputy was sent to a business in the 13000 block of U.S. 36 to investigate the theft of a vehicle by deception Wednesday at 4:21 p.m.
Deputies responded to the U.S. 33 off ramp to U.S. 42 to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2001 Buick Century that struck the back of a 2007 Pontiac G6 Wednesday at 5:46 p.m.
A deputy responded to the roundabout at Hyland Croy Road and Brock road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2006 Toyota Camry that struck a curb and a traffic sign Wednesday at 7:29 p.m.
Deputies were dispatched to a business in the 10000 block of U.S. 42 to investigate a domestic dispute between two family members Wednesday at 8:04 p.m.
Deputies were sent to the area of Stokes Road and Route 287 to investigate a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend Wednesday at 9:36 p.m.

Joshua Logan Barr, 19, of Greenwood Boulevard, was arrested on a charge of drug abuse – marijuana after a routine traffic stop on Delaware Avenue at U.S. 33 Wednesday at 3:08 p.m.
Police investigated a report of domestic violence – knowingly cause physical harm in the 600 block of Milford Avenue Wednesday at 7:26 p.m.
Police responded to a report of a suicide attempt in the 500 block of Summer Tree Loop Wednesday at 9:16 a.m.
