According to Marysville Police Department reports:
Ryan Lee Nugent, 32, of Alamorgordo, New Mexico was arrested on a warrant service arrest on W. Eighth Street at 4:45 p.m. Friday.
Police conducted a death investigation in the 600 block of Meadows Drive at 8:09 a.m. Friday. Reports indicate the investigation was conducted after a reporting person advised of another individual who was not breathing.
Police responded to a report of recovered property in the 100 block of Mill Road at 9:51 a.m. Friday. The reporting person indicated an 8-foot yellow fiberglass step ladder and blue tow rope were left in a driveway.
Josh Bell, 19, of N. Maple Street was cited for violating a protection order in the 800 block of Delaware Avenue at 12:58 a.m. Saturday. He was later arrested for domestic violence at the same location at 10:05 p.m. Saturday.
Police responded to an animal complaint in the 300 block of S. Plum Street at 12:21 a.m. Saturday. Reports indicate an individual reported a neighbor’s dog was on their property.
Police responded to a dispute that occurred at 2:50 p.m. Saturday.
Police responded to assist another agency in the 1600 block of Saffron Drive at midnight Saturday. Reports indicate MPD received a death notification from the Union County Coroner.
Police responded to a report of recovered property in the 400 block of E. Ninth Street at 5:31 p.m. Saturday. Reports indicate the found items included an orange purse with a wallet, an ID, a credit card and $7.75 in cash.
Police responded to a report of recovered property in the 200 block of N. Main Street at 4:37 p.m. Sunday. Reports indicate a Florida ID was located and returned to MPD for safekeeping.
According to Union County Sheriff’s Office reports:
Deputies and units from the Union Township Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire District and the Mechanicsburg Fire Department responded to the intersection of Route 4 and Route 161 for an injury crash involving a 2014 Toyota Camry that lost control, drove off the road and struck a utility pole at 1:37 p.m. Friday. Two victims were transported to Memorial Hospital.
Deputies and units from the Marysville Fire Department responded to the 19000 block of Route 245 for an injury crash involving a 2009 Pontiac G6 that lost control, drove off the road and struck a tree at 2:19 p.m. Friday.
A deputy met with a resident from the 13000 block of Watkins Road to investigate harassing messages that were sent via text message and a social media site at 5:11 p.m. Friday.
A deputy and units from the Liberty Township Fire Department, Northern Union County Fire and EMS District, Leesburg Township Fire Department and the Marysville Fire Department responded to a truck fire at a farm in the 15000 block of Route 347 at 5:39 p.m. Friday.
A deputy assisted a Richwood Police Officer with a person having a mental health crisis in the 200 block of North Franklin Street at 5:57 p.m. Friday.
Deputies investigated a harassment complaint involving a social media website that occurred in the 28000 block of Lunda Road at 6:20 p.m. Friday.
Deputies and units from the Jerome Township Fire Department and the Marysville Fire Department responded to the intersection of Industrial Parkway and Fladt Road to investigate an injury crash involving a 2018 Honda Civic that was struck from behind by a 2017 Audi Q7 at 7:10 p.m. Friday. One victim was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital. The driver of the Audi, Tyler R. Patrick, 43, of Dublin was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy and units from the Allen Township Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the 24000 block of Honda Parkway for a property damage crash involving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma and a 2014 Toyota Avalon at 11:18 p.m. Friday. The State Patrol investigated the crash.
Deputies and units from the Plain City Police Department, Jerome Township Fire Department, Marysville Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire District, Norwich Township Fire Department and the Washington Township Fire Department responded to the 7000 block of Rickard Road for a rescue involving five people in kayaks that were stranded in the Big Darby Creek at 12:54 p.m. Saturday.
A deputy met with an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper to take custody of Logan K. Herford, 29, of Lakeview for an outstanding arrest warrant at 6 p.m. Saturday. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence on West Catherine Street in Magnetic Springs for an unruly juvenile at 1:10 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies and units from the Northern Union County Fire and EMS District responded to the 15000 block of Route 739 for an injury crash involving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze that drove off the road and struck a mailbox, driveway culvert and a residence at 2:35 a.m. Sunday. One victim was transported to Marion General Hospital. The driver, Jacob E. Messenger, 21, of Marion was issued a traffic citation for failure to control.
A deputy and units from the Marysville Fire Department responded to the 12000 block of U.S. 36 for a property damage crash involving a vehicle that lost control and drove into the ditch at 8:27 a.m. Sunday.
A deputy met with a resident from the 19000 block of Route 245 to investigate threatening messages that were posted on a social media website at 8:50 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies were dispatched to a business on Railroad Street in Milford Center to investigate a possible breaking and entering at 10:23 a.m. Sunday.
A Union County deputy met with a Hardin County deputy to take custody of Malachai J. Hamlin, 21, of Lima for an outstanding arrest warrant at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Route 4 to resolve a family dispute at 11:09 p.m. Sunday.
According to Ohio State Highway Patrol reports:
Troopers responded to the scene of a non-injury crash at 5:30 a.m. Friday. Reports indicate Brian Lumpkins, 59, of Marion was operating a 2006 Ford 500SW on Route 4 north of mile post 25 when he struck a deer. The vehicle was disabled from the crash and was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and no citations were issued.
Troopers responded to the scene of a minor injury crash at 11:26 p.m. Friday. Reports indicate Usama Muhammed, 34, of Powell was operating a 2014 Toyota Corolla southeast on Honda Parkway, east of Smokey Road when he struck a vehicle in the rear. The 2004 Toyota Tacoma was driven by Terry Newton, 63, of Delaware as he was traveling southeast on Honda Parkway. Allen Township Division of Fire and EMS assisted at the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Muhammed claimed minor injuries. He was cited for speeding and failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Troopers responded to the scene of a minor injury crash at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Reports indicate Lane Persinger, 21, of Quincy was operating a 2003 Ford Taurus westbound on Route 47 near mile post 5 as well as Vicki Poorman, 63, of Dayton, who was operating a 2019 Chevrolet Express. Poorman stopped to make a left turn and Persinger rear-ended her vehicle. Persinger did not have his seat belt on and sustained possible minor injuries. He was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital by Indian Lake EMS. Poorman was wearing her seatbelt and had no apparent injuries. Persinger was issued a citation for speeding and failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Troopers responded to the scene of a non-injury crash at 5:20 p.m. Sunday. Reports indicate a 17-year-old male of Dublin was operating a 2000 Toyota Tacoma southeast on Route 9 west of Celtic Crossing Road when struck a vehicle driven by Albert Johnston III, 68, of Dublin, who was operating a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. Johnston III was slowing down due to traffic and the juvenile struck the rear of Johnston III’s vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and neither driver experienced any apparent injuries. The juvenile was issued a citation for speeding and failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Troopers responded to the scene of a non-injury crash at 7:58 a.m. Sunday. Reports indicate Clayton Herschberger, 21, of Strassburg, Virginia was operating a 2016 Kenworth T680 westbound on U.S. 33 east of mile post 7 when he struck a deer. He was wearing his seat belt and did not experience any apparent injuries. No citations were issued as a result of the incident.
