According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was dispatched to East Main Street at 5:14 p.m. June 13 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer was dispatched to the north area of Pastime Park at 4:22 p.m. June 13 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
An officer was on patrol and observed a loose canine in the area of Maple Street at 3:56 p.m. June 13. The officer was able to catch the canine and it was taken back to the police department kennel. A short time later, the officer was contacted by the owner and retrieved her canine. The owner was advised to get proper dog tags for her animal and warned for a violation of the dogs at large ordinance.
While on routine patrol at Edgewater Place Assisted Living on Lafayette Plain City Road at 3:35 p.m. June 13, the officer observed two elderly women who seemed confused about where they were going. They were both guided back to their rooms.
Officers were dispatched to a report of an unruly juvenile on Dickens Lane at 11:55 a.m. June 13. Medics were requested to the scene and the juvenile was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
An officer was dispatched to Converse Avenue at 7:55 a.m. June 13 in reference to a 911 follow-up.
Officers responded to St. Joseph’s Church on West Avenue at 2:51 a.m. June 13 in reference to a suspicious circumstance.
Officers responded to Plain City Lanes on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:36 a.m. June 13 in reference to a suspicious vehicle with their camper door open.
Officers observed several juveniles sitting on the basketball court at Pastime Park on North Chillicothe Street at 12:52 a.m. June 13. After making contact with the juveniles, the officer contacted the parents of all parties involved. All parties were warned of the possible consequences if they violated curfew in the future.
Officers were dispatched to Coachman Drive at 5:29 a.m. June 13 in reference to a domestic violence incident. Jonathan Steffen was not on scene at the time officers were requested to the residence. An arrest warrant was issued for Steffen for domestic violence.
An officer observed a blue Chevrolet sedan at 12:35 a.m. June 12 on South Jefferson Avenue that appeared to operating above the posted speed limit of 35 mph. The officer checked the vehicle’s speed at 51 mph. The officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle driver, Taylor Clark and her passenger, Wesley Ramsey. Ramsey was later issued a summons for possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. Clark was issued a citation for speed.
An officer received a phone call via public service advising him that The Grainery on West Main Street was playing their music too loudly at 9:57 p.m. June 12. The officer advised the complainant of the noise ordinance. The officer patrolled the listed location and the music was deemed to be a reasonable volume.
Officers were dispatched to Daily Needs Assistance on West Main Street at 8:24 p.m. June 12 in reference to an assault. After finding several discrepancies in all parties’ stories, they were advised to make better decisions when playing with other children of various ages.
An officer was on patrol at 8:04 a.m. June 12 on South Jefferson Avenue at the intersection with West Avenue when he observed a gas can lying in the middle of the northbound lane. The officer removed the gas can from the lane.
Police responded to an alarm drop at Smile Works Family Dentistry on South Jefferson Avenue at 6:13 p.m. June 11.
An officer was dispatched to the north area of Pastime Park in reference to a 911 follow-up at 5:20 p.m. June 11.
An officer was requested by a Union County Sheriff’s Office deputy to assist with a BAC test at the Plain City Municipal Building at 5:10 p.m. June 11.
Police responded to an alarm drop on Wellsley Way at 11:53 a.m. June 11.
A subject came to the police department to turn in a purse she located on Route 736 at 9:48 a.m. June 11.
Officers responded to Britton Parkway at 6:40 a.m. June 11 at the request of the Hilliard Police Department in reference to a K9 assist.
Police responded to an open door on Country View Lane at 2:29 a.m. June 10.
Officers responded to the intersection of U.S. 42 and Route 736 at 10:59 p.m. June 10 to assist the Union County Sheriff’s Office with a driving complaint.
An officer responded to East West Avenue at 7:22 p.m. June 10 in reference to a found dog. The dog owner took possession of the dog and was warned for violating the dogs at large ordinance.
An officer was dispatched to Madison Square Apartments on Fairfield Drive at 1:44 p.m. June 10 in reference to a found dog. The officer retrieved the dog and returned it to its owner. The officer warned the dog owner for allowing the dog to be loose and not having tags on the collar.
An officer was dispatched to U.S. 42 in reference to a suspected marijuana grow at 1:26 a.m. June 10. The officer was able to determine it was not marijuana but appeared to be motherwort.
An officer was met at the police department by a complainant at 11:57 a.m. June 10. The officer advised the suspect that he needs to be mindful of people’s personal space and not make unwanted advances toward others.
An officer was dispatched to Buckboard Lane at 6:22 a.m. June 9 in reference to a 911 follow-up call.
An officer conducted a routine registration check on a black Honda Accord on West Main Street at 4:36 a.m. June 9. The vehicle registration returned expired and also showed the registration was canceled. The officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle driver, Jesse Phillips-Hornak and his passenger. It was found that Phillips-Hornak had an active warrant out of the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office for contempt of court. He was later placed into custody for the warrant and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail. He was issued a citation for no valid operator’s license, failure to reinstate and operating on tags of the prior owner. The passenger was released on the scene and walked away. Phillips-Hornak’s vehicle was towed to the PCPD impound lot.
An officer responded to North Avenue at 9:37 p.m. June 9 in reference to an odor of marijuana. The officer made contact with the suspect, who stated that he had consumed marijuana earlier in the day at another location but denied consuming any marijuana at the residence in question. The officer advised the suspect of the consequences if he was found in possession of or consumed marijuana. The suspect stated that he understood. The officer then spoke with the caller.

Officers responded to North Avenue Apartments on North Avenue at 7:06 a.m. June 8 in reference to a fight. Due to the conflicting statements and the actions by both parties, they were sternly warned for all of their actions. Additionally, the male suspect was advised to have no further contact with the female suspect.
Officers were requested to assist a probation officer on North Avenue at 1:17 p.m. June 8.
An officer conducted a routine registration check on a 2009 dark green Hyundai sedan and learned the registered owner, Renard Bernard, had an entered warrant out of Indiana for drug offenses and a suspended license for operating a vehicle while under the influence. He was subsequently issued a citation for no valid operator’s license and operating a vehicle while intoxicated suspension. He was advised to take care of his warrant out of Indiana and was given a warning for expired registration. Bernard was given a courtesy transport to the GetGo gas station.
