According to Plain City Police Department reports:
Officers assisted a subject who had locked her keys in the vehicle with a young child inside at the Plain City Aquatic Center on West Second Avenue at 2:16 p.m. Aug. 28. The officers were unable to unlock the vehicle using typical tools and ultimately broke a window to gain access due to the heat while the child was inside. The child was found to be fine and was cleared by medics.
Officers were advised by a passerby of a possible domestic dispute in a vehicle on U.S. 42 at 7:52 p.m. Aug. 28. Officers located the vehicle north of Route 736 and stood by with the subjects in the vehicle until deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office arrived.
Officers responded to a noise complaint on North Avenue at 11:59 p.m. Aug. 28 and found the music to be too loud. The subject was warned and his music was turned down.
An officer was dispatched to a mental health crisis at Richwood Bank on West Main Street at 12:10 p.m. Aug. 27. An elderly male had reportedly driven his lawn tractor to the business and seemed confused. His caretaker was contacted and was told that the lawn tractor could not be driven on the roadway. The caretaker picked the subject up a short time later.
An officer was dispatched to Fairfield Drive at 12:44 p.m. Aug. 27 in reference to a well-being check. The officer assisted the Madison County Department of Jobs and Family Services.
Officers assisted a subject at the Dollar General on South Jefferson Avenue at 1:32 p.m. Aug. 27, who was possibly suffering a mental health crisis and potentially homeless.
Officers responded to a possible breaking and entering on North Chillicothe Street at 5:18 p.m. Aug. 27. The property owner said the door had been shut, but it was now open and the property was possibly rummaged through. He advised the property was vacant and did not want to pursue any investigation, but requested to be placed on the house watch list.
An officer was dispatched to look for a suspicious female who was on foot, looking in the grass in the caller’s yard on Plain City-Georgesville Road at 10:05 p.m. Aug. 27. The female advised she was looking for her cell phone. Upon arrival, the officer was unable to locate anyone matching the description given.
