According to Plain City Police Department reports:
An officer was requested to assist a Union County Sheriff’s Deputy in a traffic stop on U.S. 42 near North Chillicothe Street at 6:06 p.m. Nov. 22. The officer arrived and stayed on scene until assistance was no longer needed.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 1:55 p.m. Nov. 22 in reference to a someone throwing eggs on a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer met with the caller, who advised that sometime in the past half hour someone threw two eggs on her vehicle. The caller advised there is no damage to the vehicle and wanted the incident documented due to having other issues with an unknown person messing around her residence. The incident was documented.
Officers responded to Do It Best Hardware on Village Boulevard at 3:30 a.m. Nov. 21 for an alarm drop from the loading dock motion sensor. Upon arrival, all doors were secured and nothing seemed suspicious from outside the listed location. A keyholder was advised via public service and advised they were not responding.
An individual came into the police department at 6:35 p.m. Nov. 21 wishing to speak to an officer regarding a custody exchange. The reporting party stated that the parties normally meet on Sundays, at a specific time, for a custody exchange of their child. The other party did not show up at the normal time. The officer called and spoke with the other party, who advised he was following the court order. That information was relayed to the reporting party. Both parties advised they would be contacting their legal counsel.
An officer was requested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to assist with a BAC test at the Plain City Municipal Building at 2:55 a.m. Nov. 20.
An officer was requested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office to Smith-Calhoun Road at 4:07 a.m. Nov. 20 in reference to a possible mental episode. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the resident and stayed on scene until deputies arrived.
An officer was dispatched to Marathon on West Main Street at 10:53 a.m. Nov. 20 in reference to recovered property. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller, who advised a credit card was left inside one of the gas pumps. The credit card was turned in to the business. Contact was made with the owner of the credit card and it was returned.
An officer was dispatched to West South Street at 1:48 p.m. Nov. 20 in reference to a non-injury private property crash. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the caller who advised a red Nissan Versa struck her silver Honda Odyssey while parking, causing a minor scratch and dent. The officer observed the damage and a report was taken.
An officer was dispatched to Nighthawk Drive at 3:08 p.m. Nov. 20 in reference to a credit card theft complaint. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with an individual that reported he received a text from Apple stating that a $69.78 transaction took place at a Birmingham, Alabama Papa Johns. The individual advised that he had contacted Mastercard and they would be reimbursing him for the loss, but needed a report on file. A police report was taken.
Officers were dispatched to West South Street at 12:39 p.m. Nov. 19 in reference to a well-being check. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the caller. The caller advised he was upset and wanted to speak with someone before the situation got worse. Officers spoke with the individual and he was able to calm down and advised he was doing better.
An officer was requested for a civil standby on East Main Street at 8:16 p.m. Nov. 19. Upon arrival, the officer stood by until he was no longer needed.
An officer met at the police department at 8:48 a.m. Nov. 18 in reference to questions regarding photographs. The complainant advised that she shared some personal photos with her soon to be ex-spouse and she wanted the officer to make contact and tell the ex-spouse the photos need to be deleted. The officer explained that the police do not have the authority to make the ex-spouse delete the photos, since she shared the photos willingly. The officer suggested that the complainant speak with an attorney. After all questions were answered, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer was dispatched to North Avenue at 10:31 a.m. Nov. 18 in reference to suicide threats. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the resident. After speaking with the resident and gathering more information, the resident advised that she did not want to hurt herself and that she was fine.
An officer received a direct call at the police department at 2:09 p.m. Nov. 18 in reference to a scam call. The caller advised someone claiming to be from Best Buy Geek Squad contacted her stating that she had $30,000 transferred into her bank account, that she needed to withdraw it and send it to them to avoid hackers taking it. The caller did contact her bank and they advised they would monitor her account. The officer took a report and recommended she monitor her bank account as well and to also file a complaint with the FTC.
Officers were dispatched to East West Avenue at 10:29 p.m. Nov. 18 in reference to a possible drug overdose. The caller advised a subject consumed an unknown amount of unknown pills. Prior to officers arriving, the subject left the listed location on foot but shortly returned. Officers were able to make contact with the subject, assessed the situation and provided the necessary resources. Everything was deemed to be OK.
An officer observed a suspicious blue Chevrolet parked in front of NAPA on Village Boulevard at 11:16 p.m. Nov. 18. An officer made contact with the driver, who advised he pulled over to use the phone. After not observing anything out of the ordinary and once the driver was on his way, the officer returned to patrol.
An officer was dispatched to West South Street at 7:50 a.m. Nov. 17 in reference to a well-being check. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the resident, advised her that her son was concerned due to not being able to reach her. The officer made contact with the caller and advised everything was OK.
An officer observed a Ford RV parked facing southbound on the roadway in front of Wellsley Way at 2:17 p.m. Nov. 17. An officer made contact with the owner of the RV and explained the Plain City parking ordinances. The RV owner advised he would move the RV and it was moved.
An officer responded to Plain City Elementary School in reference to a commercial fire alarm at 3:10 p.m. Nov. 17. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with Station 261 personnel who advised an unknown juvenile had accidently pulled a pull station alarm. Station 261 personnel advised that the alarm was reset and the officer’s assistance was no longer needed.
An officer responded to Plain City Lanes on South Jefferson Avenue at 6:33 p.m. Nov. 17 in reference to a 911 follow-up. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the caller, who advised he accidently pocket dialed 911.
Officers responded to East Main Street at 7:48 p.m. Nov. 17 on the report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they spoke to both parties and determined that no criminal act had been committed. Both parties agreed to avoid contact with one another until the situation had calmed down.
An officer observed the interior light on in a 2016 Ford on Wellsley Way at 12:24 a.m. Nov. 16. The officer made contact with the vehicle owner and advised him of the light being on. The owner turned the light off.
An officer was dispatched to the area of Willowcreek Court at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 16 for a solicitor. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with an individual who stated he was with Window Nation dropping off flyers, speaking with potential customers and offering them a free estimate. The officer asked him if he had a permit to solicit in the village limits and he stated that he did not. The officer issued a summons for soliciting without a permit.
An officer received a complaint on a possible solicitor on Harrington Drive at 3:43 p.m. Nov. 16. The officer arrived at the listed location and met with the complainant and was advised that two days ago a female came to her door attempting to solicit for a window service. She stated the female was driving a green unknown SUV, which has passed her house on different occasions and which she has seen on her Ring doorbell camera. The officer asked for the videos to be sent to him, from her Ring doorbell, for the report. The officer advised her to notify the police if she saw her again. The officer patrolled the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
The officers responded to North Avenue on a wellbeing check at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 16. Upon arrival, the officers met with the occupants of the residence. Officers advised the complaint that was received. After speaking with each individual, the officer checked the residence and deemed everything to be fine.
The officer was met at the police department in reference to an identity theft complaint at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 16. The officer was advised that letters were received from the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services that indicated someone had filed an unemployment claim in her name and from Wells Fargo, that someone opened a bank account in her name. The complainant advised that she has already been in contact with both entities. The officer took a report and also referred to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office for identity theft.
