Council addresses 440 overtime hours

When Richwood Village Council met in regular session on Monday, March 28,
Financial Officer Don Jolliff reported that when the 2005 budget was set-up,
it allowed for a buffer of 10% of the annual salary budget to be expended
for overtime labor.  However,  for the first quarter alone,  the water
department has utilized 13% and the sewer department  17%.  Jolliff stated
the departments will need to be careful as they could run out of labor

National Honor Society inducts new members
Karcher named honorary member

The North Union Chapter of the National Honor Society was initiated at a
Sunday afternoon tea at the high school building on May 20, 1951. The
charter members were Robert Allen, Beverly Brobeck, Dale Daniels, Shirley
Pittman, Kathryn Sieg, Mozelle Thompson of the Class of O51 and Mary
Brelsford, Sonalee Converse and Doris Shoup of the Class of O52. The chapter
chose the following officers: Doris Shoup, president; Mary Brelsford, vice
president; Sonalee Con-verse, secretary and Mr. Fisher is the chapter

Board accepts resignation of Principal Vaughn Williams

At the Monday, March 21 meeting, the North Union Local Board of Education
accepted the resignation of Vaughn Williams, high school principal,
effective the end of the current school year. School Board Pres-ident Jon
Hall stressed that the resignation was accepted ³with regret.² Williams, an
educator with 42 years experience, plans to return to retirement.
