Council discusses health insurance and

A recount of ballots in Richwood I and Richwood II
precincts held at the Union County Board of Elections on Monday, Nov. 28 ended
with no surprises.
Delphos Granite Works now open in Prospect
Awarded Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial monument design project
In the Spring of 2005, Dave and Missy Meddings opened the
latest Delphos Granite Works' satellite office in Prospect, located at 104 S.
Elm Street. The company has representatives in 40 counties throughout
Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
Christmas Parade set for Saturday
Park lighting ceremony to follow
The annual Richwood Christmas Parade is set for Saturday,
Dec. 3, when Santa arrives in town. The holiday season will kick into full
swing with the parade and the lighting of Richwood Park.
Council turns down Incentive
Program

Union County Economic Developer Eric Phillips approached Richwood Vil-lage
Council with two resolutions for consideration when Council met in regular
session on Monday, Nov.14.
The first proposal concerned an Incentive Program for the Village.
(Phillips first brought this resolution to Councilıs attention back in
October when the decision was made that more time was needed to look over
the proposal.)

Chamber of Commerce recognizes area leaders
The second annual ³Salute to Leaders² banquet was held Thursday, Nov. 3.
Awards were bestowed on individuals who had distinguished themselves in
various categories or individually had improved the quality of life in their
community.
Village Council gets new member; voters split on local tax
issues
Incumbent Village Council members Wade McCalf, George Showalter and Peg
Wiley were given the votersı approval at the polls when the ballots were
counted on Tuesday, Nov. 8. However, incumbent W. Arlene Blue lost her seat
to newcomer James Thompson. Origin-ally eight candidates had filed for the
four seats, but Jim Dew officially withdrew his name from consideration
prior to the election.
Thompson, former Village Administrator and Zoning Inspector garnered 250
votes, coming in fourth in vote totals.
Unofficial results were as follows: Cynthia Blackburn, 248; Blue, 188;
McCalf, 278; Showalter, 261; Thompson, 250; Julie Tumeo, 216 and Wiley, 311.
Thompson will take office on January 1, 2006.

Voters to decide tax issues for
the village, school, townships, seniors and state
Besides a myriad of candidates running for office, there are several local
and five state tax levies on the Tuesday, Nov. 8 ballot for voters to
decide.
Ribbon cutting set for new NU High School
addition
North Unionıs Partners in Pride is set for Saturday, Nov. 5 - a Celebrate
North Union event. A Grand Opening and Ribbon-cutting Ceremony for the new
North Union High School academic wing will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Activities will take place at both the elementary and high school
buildings throughout the day. Residents will have an opportunity to
experience North Union pride and enjoy displays, exhibits and programs which
have been planned to showcase North Union studentsı talents and interests.
