MAI Manufacturing to build new million dollar facility at
Richwood Industrial Park

MAI Manufacturing is expanding and will construct a new 48,000 square foot
facility in the Richwood Industrial Park.

Baxa takes over Village Administrator duties
The Village of Richwood has a new Village Administrator. Larry Baxa began
his duties on July 31.

Local food pantry needs support from fairgoers
The local food pantry in Richwood is in need of help ­- major help. The
pantry, since last winter,  has been serving a record number of families,
which has not only depleted the shelves, but also the coffers.

Board renews membership in Ohio Coalition for Equity/Adequacy

  Bill Phillis, Executive Director of the Ohio Coalition for Equity and
Adequacy of School Funding, addressed the North Union Board of Education at
the Monday, Aug. 21 meeting.

Inductees chosen for NUHS 2006-2007 Hall of Pride
North Union High School has selected Nancy K. Hoffman, Robert Wayne "Bob"
Penry and Dr. Lester E. Wall as the  2006-2007 Hall of Pride inductees.
Nominees were reviewed for their accomplishments, honors or recognition in
athletics, business, education, humanitarian pursuits or service to others.

"Little Big Town" headlines Fair grandstand performances
This year's 114th Richwood Independent Fair offers exciting entertainment,
food and lots of activities for fairgoers throughout the six-day event,
Wednesday, Aug. 30 to Monday, Sept. 4.

RABA discusses downtown revitalization/promotion
Members of the Richwood Area Business Association met in a special session
on Tuesday, Aug. 8 to discuss the assessment/study submitted by Heritage
Ohio concerning Richwood's future. Residents of the community were invited
to attend to add their input.

Band to open Balloon Festival entertainment
Event to be held Friday and Saturday in Marysville

audiences begging for more.

NU Board hires two assistant principals
The North Union Local Board of Education took action Monday, July 31, to
employ Matt Burggraf as Assistant High School Principal. He replaces Kathy
McFarland who took a head principal position in another district.
Dave Harmon was hired as the Assistant Elementary Principal to replace Joe
Jude who also moved to another district to be a head principal.

Richwood Tire Center has new owners, but stays in the family
Customers at Richwood Tire Center (RTC) have been greeted lately by some
different faces. Tracy and Dawn (Carpenter) Kavanagh recently purchased the
business from Tracy's parents, Ted and Susie Kavanagh.

It was 1974 when Jack Scott went to his first balloon rally in southern
Ohio. In awe, he returned from the weekend event with one thing on his mind
- that Marysville needed the same celebration.
