Fowler accepts Emmy for special on teenage driving
Medical Reporter Kathy Fowler and the WJLA-TV, ABC-7 news team in
Washington, D.C. produced a prime time  special dealing with the many
dangerous risks teenage drivers take on the road.

Village hires new Administrator; terminates Rodgers as Solicitor

At Mayor Bill Nibertıs request, council member Vaughn Beal made a motion,
with council member Jim Thompsonıs second to terminate the services of Rick
Rodger as Village Solicitor when council met in regular session on Monday,
June 26.  The motion passed 6-0.

Bleacher construction to begin in July

Paul Mullins of MKC Associates addressed board members at the Monday, June
26 North Union Board of Education meeting.  Mullins explained that the
bleacher replacement project is moving along and that concrete placement
will begin this week, with weather permitting.

Trip to Belize is eye-opening experience for Wiley

Kettering College of Medical Arts (KCMA) offers a rare experience for
mission work in the medical field through an International Health Class.
Each year a team comprised of doctors, nurses, physician assistants and
students travel to Belize to provide medical care and supplies, conduct
health fairs and provide screenings for health problems for the Belizeans.

It's a great thing to be in  The Dog House
Local barber and businessman Jim Goodwin is known all around town for his
canine companion, Dot. The pair can be seen walking every morning, out for
their daily stroll.
"I never get tired of people's comments about how well-behaved Dot is,"
said Goodwin. "Many of these people  usually mention that their dog is
out-of-control and they can't get them to do anything right."

Ohio Edison officials addresspower outage concerns

Ohio Edison officials, Manager Curt Gardener and Operation Manager Jay
Moss were in attendance at the Monday, June 12 Village of Richwood Council
meeting to answer questions regarding the recent power outages experienced
in the area. They listened to the concerns that were addressed by local
businesses as well as Council members.

2006 Springenfest arrives!
The streets of downtown Richwood will be buzzing with activity this weekend
when the North Union Athletic Complex stages the annual Springenfest event.

 NUHS names three valedictorians and a salutatorian for the Class of 2006
REBEKAH DELP
    Rebekah Delp has been named co-valedictorian at North Union High School
for 2006.
JAMIE GODDARD
    Jamie Goddard has been named co-valedictorian at North Union High School
for 2006.
JUSTIN MORONE
Daniel Justin Reese Morone has been named co-valedictorian at North Union
High School for 2006.
BETHANY GROSE
Bethany Grose, daughter of Lynn and Mary Grose, has been named
Salutator-ian for the North Union Class of 2006.
