Landon accepts plea bargain in theft case

The Richwood builder who allegedly
stole more than $100,000 from
unsuspecting customers, entered a plea bargain,
which should result in him
spending eight years in prison. Landon could have
faced up to 12 years in
prison for his crimes.

group forming in Richwood
Starting Saturday, April 8, a new Alcoholics
Anonymous (AA) group will be
meeting in Richwood.
Smith hired as new North Union Superintendent

Union Local Board of Education took action Monday evening to employ
Richard
D. Smith, Jr. as superintendent effective Tuesday, Aug. 1. The
employment
followed a six-month search process involving community focus
groups and
interview teams.

for new NU Middle School
Governor Bob Taft an-nounced that 28 school
district have been identified
for funding this year under the statešs
Rebuilding Ohio's Schools program.
North Union Local Schools is among those
on the list.

Jim Johnson, a resident of Marysville, has
been hired as the new Community
Policing Officer by Richwood Police Chief

Union County Election Board to host seminar
The Union County Board of
Elections will be hosting a hands-on training
seminar for the new iVotronic
voting machines. These new touch-screen voting
machines will be used for the
first time at the primary election on Tuesday,
May 2.

Richwood Council meeting. Richwood area farmers John
Wiley, Jim Wiley, Gary
Taylor, Bill Foos, and resident Dick George were in
attendance to discuss
this matter with Council.

Irma Wielinski (pronounced Vielinski) was born
February 2, 1927. Growing
up, her childhood was not like a lot of other
children's, because Irma was
born in Hamburg, Germany, during the reign of Adolf Hitler.
