Workman received the Navy Cross, the Marine Corp's
second-highest award, for
rescuing fellow Marines, but all he could think
about as he was honored
Friday during graduation at Parris Island were the

Wills Construction given go-ahead on building project

Sgt. Workman to receive prestigious Navy Cross

The
second highest medal that can be awarded by the United States Navy,
Marine
Corps and Coast Guard will be bestowed on North Union graduate Sgt.
Jeremiah
Workman in ceremonies to be held on Friday, May 12 at Parris
Island,
S.C. Sgt. Workman, who also has received a Purple Heart for injuries
suffered
during combat, is only the ninth soldier to receive this honor for
service
to his country during Iraqi Freedom.
