Christmas Parade; Park lighting set for Saturday
The holiday season will kick into full swing with the Richwood Area Business
Association (RBBA) sponsored annual Richwood Christmas Parade followed
by the lighting of trees at Richwood Park. The parade, with the theme
"Christmas Morning," is set to begin at 4 p.m.


Kelsie Ross wins two country music honors

National competition set for March
Category: Traditional Country Music.
Question: Winner of Female Vocalist of the Year and Female Entertainer of
the Year at both the Buckeye and North American Country Music Association
Awards?
Answer: Kelsie Ross.
North Union High School sophomore, Kelsie Ross, 15, will be heading to
Pigeon Forge, Tenn. in March to compete at the national level due to her
success in recent regional and state country music competitions.

Family Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher Linda Davis approached Board
members regarding their plans to cut the Family Life Science class from the
middle school curriculum.

James Baker, owner of the Richwood Laundry, addressed Council members
about the issue of a possible increase in both water and sewer rates when
solons met in regular session on Monday, Nov. 13 with  members Von Beal and
Scott Jerew absent.

Voters approve new fire levy
Tri-Rivers renewal passes

Union County voters turned out in droves to cast their ballots at the
General Election held Tuesday, Nov. 7. According to Karla Herron, Director
of the Union County Board of Elections, 17,076 people cast their ballots for
a 57.10% voter turnout, but not a record.

Gene Wiley receives honor from Ohio School Board Association

Gene Wiley, who recently resigned from the Delaware-Union Educational
Service Center (ESC) and Tri-Rivers Joint Vocational School District (JVSD)
boards, is among five public school board members named to the Ohio School
Boards Association's (OSBA) 2006 All-Ohio School Board. The board members
will be recognized with the association's most prestigious honor on
Wednesday, Nov. 15 during the 51st annual OSBA Capital Conference and Trade
Show in Columbus.


RABA makes plans for holiday season
Plans are underway for the up-coming holiday season in the Village of
Richwood. Set to begin Wednesday, Nov. 15, the Great Holiday Pie/Fudge
Giveaway will continue through Thursday, Dec. 7.
