Scotts Miracle-Gro Company Submitted by United Way Every year, millions of
Christmas cards are exchanged nationwide as friends and family send holiday
greetings. But one Michigan company decided to start a new tradition this
season.

New officer
joins Richwood Police Department Richwood Police Chief Monte Asher announced
the appointment of a new full-time officer to the department, Officer
Jonathon Todhunter.
Newspaper Holiday publishing date set The
Richwood Gazette will be publishing on Thursday, January 3 because of the New
Year holiday. Therefore, local subscribers will receive their papers a day
later than normal. Deadlines for advertising will remain the same, Fridays at
3 p.m.
NU School Board hears from the Council for Union County Families By: LEIGH
ANN GLASS Council for Union County Families Coordinator Brenda Rock informed
board members about the No Wrong Door Program as well as the six
Commitments to Child Well-Being when they met in regular session on Monday,
Dec. 17. All members were present.
Candidate seeks Clerk of Courts
office Karen Westlake Haller, a Marysville native and conservative
Republican, has announced plans to run for Union County Clerk of Courts.
Haller currently serves as Mediation Administrative Assistant for the
Union County Court of Common Pleas, as well as Executive Director of
the Community Service Program.

Richwood Village Council decides to put renewal levies on the March
2008 ballot By: LEIGH ANN GLASS Richwood Village Council members
discussed the renewal of the village levies when they met in regular session
on Monday, Dec. 10. Fiscal Officer Don Jolliff was absent.
New
700-seat auditorium, gymnasium planned for North Union Schools By RICK
SMITH NU Superintendent North Union Board of Education will be granting
final approval to ask voters to consider a 5.5 mill Permanent Improvement
Levy to finish Phase 3 of the district building projects by adding a 700-seat
auditorium, extra classrooms and a full high school sized auxiliary gym.
Permanent improvement funds can only be used for items that last over five
years like school busses, computers, parking lots, etc. No one likes to
ask for money, but this one-time opportunity is unique and could not be
done for less funds in the future.

Judge of the Union County Court of Common Pleas.
Richwood resident
found guilty of felonious assault Gerald Keeton, 40, of Richwood, was found
guilty last week on one count of felonious assault.

Richwood Area Business Association's Great Pie Giveaway. Lucky recipients are
to pick up certificates from the business where their name was selected and
then will need to give Carlyle's Restaurant a 24-hour notice prior to
picking up their order.
