Bids being sought for Veterans' Memorial
The North Union District Veterans Memorial committees have announced that
Jim Riedl from Marion Monuments has been selected from four bidders to build
the North Union District Veterans Memorial monument. Riedl's company built the
WW II monument in Marion.

New water line project in planning stage for Village

Utilities Committee Chair Von Beal informed Council members about 
discussions held at a recent Utilities Input Committee meeting when 
solons met in regular session on Monday, Jan. 22. Council member Jim 
Thompson was absent.

There's no doubt that many people in Richwood have seen a colorful 
bus with children's faces and the word ePassport written on the sides 
around the town.
   The mystery is solved, for those who were wondering what this bus 
is doing in Richwood.

Park vandalism tops Council discussion

  Park Committee Chair George Showalter informed Council members about the
vandalism of Christmas lights at the Richwood Park when solons met in
regular session on Monday, Jan. 8.

New NUMS building project
in first stages of planning

North Union Local School District has been moving forward on the next
phase of the district¹s building project with the arrival of State funds
this summer.

Hoffman named president of Richwood Banking Company

Chad Hoffman has been named the new president of Richwood Banking Company by
its Board of Directors. He replaces his mother, Nancy Hoffman, who retired
December 31, 2006.

2006 passes; residents anticipate new year
The year 2006 is now in the history books. Richwood saw the opening of a new
Family Dollar Store, a new facility for Richwood Family Dental and the
groundbreaking of the North Union District Veterans Memorial.
Richwood was honored that one of her own, Sgt. Jeremiah Workman was
decorated with the Navy Cross for heroism during operation Iraqi Freedom.
A Richwood connection to a television theft ring was being investigated as
2006 came to a close.

Architects provide Board NUHS/NUMS schematic plans

MKC Architects provided members of the North Union Board of Education
with the plans of the high school renovation project as well as the
schematic plans of the new middle school building  at a meeting held on
Tuesday, Jan. 2.
