 Village Administrator provides Council with 5-10 year plan

Village Administrator Larry Baxa provided Village Council members with a
five to ten year plan when they met in regular session on Monday, July
23. Council member Scott Jerew was absent.

Park Day event set
Mark your calendars for Sunday, Aug. 5, to spend the day at
The Richwood Park for day of food, fun and festivitiesent is set for
August 5.

Bargain hunters will be in town
The streets in Richwood will be experiencing heavier traffic Friday and
Saturday in  coordination with the Honda Homecoming weekend.

Superintendent Smith discusses the local report card with the school
board

 North Union School Superintendent Rick Smith and Board of Education
members discussed the local report card when they met in regular session
on Monday.

New Tower will help Union County Emergency Services
  "One of the most capable radio systems in the United States will be
constructed in Northern Union county," states Darryl Anderson, Program
Administrator for the Ohio MARCS program. Board members of the Northern
Union County Fire and EMS District and the State Office of Information
Technology have reached an agreement to solve a continuing problem in
radio communications within the county.

Community-wide yard sales set for July 27/28
It's time for everyone in the community to clean out their basements,
attics, closets or garage and get organized for the annual
Community-wide Yard Sales.

Welcome to the 161st Annual Union County Fair!
Fair starts Monday, July 23

Fair board members of The Union County Fair invite area residents to
join them for their 161st season, which runs Monday, July 23, through
Sunday, July 29. A week of entertainment, food, fun and many other
activities are listed for all ages. The fair opens at 8 a.m. and closes
at 10 p.m. each day.

North Union Veterans Memorial is dedicated
As the crowd watched, three Black Hawk helicopters flew over the site of
the North Union District Veteran's Memorial; it was quite evident that
this was a special place for many special people.

Council discusses the excessive speeds of motorcyclists

Richwood Village Council members discussed the increasing amount of
motorcyclists who are traveling through town at excessive speeds, at the
Monday,  meeting. Council member Scott Jerew was absent.

School Board accepts resignations and hires new staff
The North Union Board of Education met in a special meeting Monday to
accept resignations and to employ new staff members.

Prospect bridge closing; state funding replacement
A focal point in the village of Prospect is once again making history.
The bridge, on State Route 47 which crosses over the Scioto River, will
be replaced beginning Monday, July 9. What's historical is the when and
why it was previously replaced.

Seeking support for AMBER Alert plates
Sheriff Rocky Nelson is asking for support in the concept of the AMBER
Alert license plate. The Governor's AMBER Alert steering commitee is
promoting these new plates with the idea of generating funds to provide
training for officers in conducting the investigations of missing
children. This is a scam.

and all you have to do is cash it, send half the money to an overseas
