Heifer International Festival By Dr. Monica Decker Chairman of Heifer
International Project The 3rd Annual Heifer Fall Festival will be held at the
Richwood Fairgrounds on Sunday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 5 p.m., hosted by the
North Union United Methodist Cooperative, which consists of
Pharisburg, Magnetic Springs, Community, McKendree, Claibourne, Richwood
First and Rush Creek United Methodist Churches.
Area resident pleads
guilty From Journal-Tribune staff reports Wanda Bright, 47, of 11117
Askins Rd., Marysville, pled guilty to one count of misuse of credit cards, a
fourth-degree felony and one count of theft, a felony of the fifth degree.
She was sentenced to 16 months in a state penitentiary.
Pleasant View
school house restored Very few one-room schoolhouses remain standing, but
after several years' of hard work and over $35,000 in costs, the old Pleasant
View or Big Swale School on LeMasters Rd. has been completely
restored.
Double tragedy saddens community A one-vehicle accident
Friday evening, Sept. 21, took the life of a young Richwood
woman. According to reports from the Delaware County Ohio State Patrol,
at about 9 p.m., a 1990 GMC Sierra pick-up, registered to Courtney
Nibert, age 22, was traveling westbound on Donovan Rd. in Delaware County.
The vehicle traveled around a curve and lost control, rolled and rested in
a field. Nibert was ejected from the vehicle through the passenger
window.
MKC architects update the school board on NUHS/NUMS projects By: LEIGH ANN
GLASS MKC architects Dave Zeller and Paul Mullens provided board members
with updates on the North Union High School and Middle School projects
when they met in regular session on Monday.
United Way campaign in
full swing Editor's note: The following information is supplied by Dave

helping United Way of Union County achieve an $800,000 fundraising goal
during this fall's annual campaign.
Two area residents plead quilty
from Journal-Tribune staff reports Two area residents have pled guilty to
charges in Union County Court last week. Stacey Lynn Pertuset, 38, 0f 4699
Centerville-Green Camp Road in Prospect plead guilty to four counts of
deception to obtain dangerous drugs. One of the counts was a fourth-degree
felony and the others were fifth degree felonies.
Village Council discusses expiring levies and the municipal building By:
LEIGH ANN GLASS Richwood Village Council members discussed the expiring
village levies and the condition of the municipal building when they met in
regular session on Monday.
Fun Fall weekend planned by RABA The
Richwood Area Business Association (RABA) is putting the final touches on the
upcoming Customer Appreciation Day, which will be held Saturday, Sept. 15.
The event, held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., gives local merchants an opportunity
to offer customers special discounts in appreciation for their past, current
and future business.
Billboard honors senior services The Union
County Senior Services was formed by the county commissioners with the
mission to make services available that can help Union County seniors remain
independent, healthy and secure in their own home.

Personalities. . . Fallow deer create peaceful entertainment By SYLVIA
ZIMMERMAN Even though the last drive-in movie theater has been gone for
decades around the Richwood area, there is still an opportunity to drive
up, pull out a chair and turn on your camcorder to film the fallow deer
at the corner of St. Rt. 4 and Fulton Creek Rd. Howard
Bradford inadvertently provided the entertainment when he brought home nine
of these very small, delicate and completely charming deer.
