Mobile Meals expands delivery to weekends
This September,
Memorial Hospital of Union County will be expanding
its Mobile Meals
program. Currently delivering hot lunches five days
a week to participating
seniors, the program will grow to include two
additional lunches; one for
each day of the weekend.
Richwood Police Dept. enforces
“No
Tolerance Policy” on curfew
The Richwood Police Department wants the public
and especially the
parents to know that they will not tolerate curfew
violations.
Humane Society receives grant to spay/neuter cats in
Richwood
The Union County Humane Society (UCHS) received a $14,010 grant
from PetSmart Charities® this week to purchase live traps and
monitoring software to spay/neuter 303 feral and stray cats in a Trap-
Neuter-Release Program for the village of Richwood. UCHS is a private
nonprofit organization that has been spaying/neutering feral and
stray
cats in partnership with The Black and Orange Cat Foundation
since
2007.
Union County Flea Market opens on edge of Richwood
"It all started with a
phone call to the Union County Fairgrounds. I
needed a place to sell some
household items," states Charmaine Anderson.

NUCFD receives donation for fire
training
Northern Union County Fire and EMS Department (NUCFD) recently
received a fire training trailer from Nestle R & D of Marysville. The
trailer box car will be used for invaluable training for life safety
in
evacuation in buildings, smoke training and the opportunity to
feel heat
temperatures from different types of fires.
An old church building gets new life
The church more recently known as the
Community United Calvary
Church, has a new name, new congregation and a new
focus. The name is
Richwood Chapel, located at 117 E. Ottawa St. in
Richwood. Leaders
are inviting the public who wish to find peace and
stability in their
life or who are struggling to overcome obstacles in
their daily life,
to stop in on Sunday for worship at 10:30
a.m.

Richwood Village Council moved forward on several issues brought up
at June meetings.
Antique machinery show returns to Richwood

The Center to undergo major
renovations
Hopefully, renovations at 235 Grove Street in Richwood, will
begin
soon at the Richwood Community Apartments and The Center.
Family fun, food and fireworks enjoyed by all
Battle Run Fire Department
and Prospect Lions Club members
hosted the annual Fourth of July
celebration in Prospect Saturday
and were very pleased with the overall
event. Attendance was good,
organizers ran out of food, the weather was
perfect and the crowd
enjoyed the fireworks.
Suspect faces civil
lawsuits

The Union County Prosecutors Office has filed a
civil suit against
the woman convicted of stealing money from both the
North Union
School District and Washington
Township.

FFA and 4-H members are polishing up their
projects, garden and
floral products have been watered, pampered and
polished in
preparation for the 164th Union County Fair.
New humane
agent commissioned
Union County Humane Society is pleased to announce the
addition of a
second Humane Agent. As of July 2010, James A. Reynolds is
joining
James C. Froehlich, shelter manager and current Humane Agent
serving
in Union County. Reynolds is re- placing Joab Scott who retired
after serving Union County in the roles of both humane agent and dog
warden in the past. Reynolds completed the mandatory Ohio Peace
Officer
Training Academy course for humane agents in April and has
now received his
commission from the Union County Probate Judge
Eufinger.
