receives diploma 68 years after leaving high school

James Lowell Davis was born June 4, 1930, in the one-room schoolhouse on
Boundary Road. He was the fourth of 11 children. When he was five years
old, his family moved into Richwood on Grove Street.

State recognizes Harold Lewis School

Many Union County residents have long known the Harold Lewis Center as a
quality learning and development preschool. The State of Ohio knows
it now, too.
In recognition of its commitment to quality and an ongoing dedication to
the learning and development of children, the Union County Board of
Developmental Disabilities’ Harold Lewis Center recently received a
“Five-Star Step Up To Quality Award” from the state.

reportedly remove gaming devices from business

A Richwood bar and grill has been closed, at least temporarily.
Law enforcement officials confirmed Friday that the Ohio Investigative
Unit, a division of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, executed a search
warrant Friday morning at the Villa Hotel, 12 West Blagrove St., Richwood.
Legendary rockers to play at All Ohio Balloon
Fest
It’s not every day a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee performs in
Marysville, but that’s exactly what’s about to happen this summer.
After months of teasing and speculation on social media, the All Ohio
Balloon Fest is excited to announce that legendary rock band ZZ Top will
headline at this year’s fest on Thursday, Aug. 9.
Charges filed
in Villa raid

Charges have been filed against the Villa Hotel in Richwood.
Sgt. Tiffany Meeks, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, confirmed
administrative charges had been filed against the Villa Hotel’s liquor
permit.
Council hears about park project coming to a
close

Richwood village council heard from Mayor Scott Jerew that the park
project is near completition and the trail committee is awaiting on the
final walkthrough. Jerew did mention that The Walking Path Ribbon Cutting
is set for Saturday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. More information will be announced
to the public as the project will soon be complete.
RABA gears up for the summer

Members of the Richwood Area Business Association (RABA) met June 12, for
their monthly meeting. Two special dates were announced for events
scheduled in Richwood.
