Schmenk wins county commissioner race

Union County voters have selected Christiane Schmenk as Union County
Commissioner.
According to unofficial results from the Union County Board of Elections,
Schmenk, a Republican, earned 16,187 votes, about 71 percent, while
Democrat Tiffanie Roberts received 6,698 votes, about 29 percent.
Union County voters pass health department levy

The Union County Health Department (UCHD) had its renewal levy passed, and
can continue keeping its programs and projects afloat.
According to an unofficial summary report by the Union County Board of
Elections, the people of Union County decided to renew the department’s
10-year 0.75-mill levy with a 0.15-mill increase, with 13,406 supporting
and 9,800 against.
Richardson to represent Richwood in Ohio’s
86th district

Marysville resident and current city councilperson Tracy Richardson won
Tuesday’s election for representative of Ohio’s 86th district.
Richardson, a Republican, defeated Democrat Glenn Coble, of Marion.
“It is a great deal of humility and gratitude that I thank our residents
for their support and vote of confidence,” Richardson wrote in an email.
Northern Union County election results

Voters in northern Union County went to the polls Tuesday to determine the
fate of several local issues. The results listed below are unofficial
until the Union County Board of Elections has them certified.
Festival of Thanks is announced
The annual Festival of Thanks will be held Sunday, Nov. 18, so mark your
calendar to attend.
This non-denominational event will be held at the Fulton Creek Friends
Church, located at the intersection of Fulton Creek Road, State Routes 4
and 37. The program will begin at 6 p.m.
Veterans to be honored
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 870 and the American Legion Post 40
invite local veterans and their guest to the “Veterans Day” no cost brunch
on Friday, Nov. 9, in honor of Veterans Day. The event will take place at
the Richwood VFW location at the corner of North Franklin and West
Blagrove Streets. Food will be served from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
There will be scrambled eggs, sausage/gravy, sausage patties, friend
potatoes and coffee available. No reservations are required.

Last blood drive of the year set for Nov. 19

Village to test water pressure

Village kicks off Christmas with parade

Excitement comes to Richwood beginning Saturday, December 1, when the
annual Christmas Parade takes place and Santa comes to town!
The annual Christmas Open House takes place at the Richwood-North Union
Public Library Saturday, Dec. 1 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be home
baked goods to purchase, a fun scavenger hunt, the popular Pick-A-Prize
raffle and of course, a visit with Santa Claus. Enjoy the display of many
decorated Christmas trees, representing various businesses and
organizations representing Richwood and Union County.
Richwood receives grant to provide sidewalks

The Ohio Department of Transportation recently notified the Union County
Health Department and the Village of Richwood, that they will receive
$189,703 from their application of a Safe Routes to School Infrastructure
Application they had applied for.
Organ concert to help ring in holiday spirit

organ concert and carol singing on Sunday, Dec. 2. Come to 18 S. Fulton
