NU robotics teams qualify for world

The regular competition season for North Union’s robotics teams has come
to a close for the 2018-2019 year. It was another extremely successful
year for our teams, most of which qualified and competed at the state
championship level just a few weeks ago, and several North Union teams
will continue their season later this month at the VEX World Championship
in Louisville, KY.
Red Cross volunteers needed to install smoke alarms

The North Central Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross is needing
volunteers to help the effort of the “Sound the Alarm” home fire safety
program that begins April 27. The goal is to install 100,000 free smoke
alarms across the United States.
NUHS graduate serves in Navy’s submarine force

Fireman recruit Jarred Covert, of Marysville, is a member of the U.S.
Navy’s “Silent Service” submarine force.
Covert is a 2017 graduate of North Union High School and is assigned to
the USS Georgia. He takes on the task to execute one of the Defense
Department’s most important mission of strategic deterrence.
Churches invited to publish Easter service hours

Easter Sunday will be held on Sunday, April 21, and many churches will be
inviting the public to attend their special services.
Phase One project on schedule

Village council members questioned Village Administrator Monte Asher on
the status of the Franklin Street project. Asher replied that things have
been going quite well. New gas lines have been installed from Beatty
Avenue/N. Franklin Street and down Landon Road. The weather has cooperated

The Union County Sheriff’s Office will host an informative event on “Learn
the Warning Signs of Teenage Substance Misuse.” Mark your calendar and
plan to attend the Thursday, April 11 event from 3 to 7 p.m.

RABA plans spring events

The Richwood Area Business Association met April 9 for their monthly
meeting.
In old business, it was announced that the Spring Basket Giveaway will
conclude on Wednesday, April 17. Participating businesses have been
gathering sign-ups from customers and each business will draw a winner on
April 17. The businesses will contact their winner and the winner will
receive a certificate for a beautiful hanging basket at Plotner Hardware.

school

Union Middle School Monday evening. Board members toured the facility
