NUHS incident ends in standoff at hospital

An incident that started at the North Union High School ended in a pair of standoffs at Memorial Hospital and criminal charges against a Marion man.
Anthony Lagos, 38, of 270 Somerlot Hoffman Road West, Marion, has been charged with one count of felony inducing panic.

LUC to sponsor Fair Housing program

Heather Martin has been commissioned by the Logan Union Champaign Regional Planning Commission to hold an informational meeting at the Magnetic Springs Village Hall, located at 30 W. Magnetic Street in Magnetic Springs. The event will be held on Wednesday, March 27, from 3 to 4 p.m.
The village of Magnetic Springs has been awarded $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Grant for updates in the village. A requirement to receiving CDBG monies is to learn more about fair housing in their community.

DI teams headed to state competition

On March 30, the SnoogleTuff DayLandNight Ramen Noodle Jrs. will compete in the state Destination Imagination (DI) competition to be held at Beaver Local Schools in East Liverpool, Ohio. The team will compete in two events, a central challenge and an instant challenge. These challenges require teams to work together closely on their solution, and teams are evaluated on their creativity and teamwork.

Students honored at FFA Banquet

FFA takes first place in state in Agronomy

The North Union FFA Agronomy Career Development Event (CDE) team competed at the Ohio State Fairgrounds Saturday. The team placed first out of 28 schools and will represent Ohio at the National FFA Convention.
