A pair of local teams took the top two honors during Monday’s Fairbanks High School Panther boys golf invitational.
Jonathan Alder carded a team score of 314 to claim championship accolades.
The Pioneers were closely followed by Fairbanks, which tallied a 317.
Additional team scores were as follows:
-Pleasant-320, Kenton Ridge-325, Madison Plains-386, Northeastern-409, Buckeye Valley-410, Shekinah Christian-423, Mt. Gilead-423 and West Jefferson-563.
Andrew Crowe of Fairbanks blistered the Darby Creek course with a 75 to earn medalist honors.
Tyler Boggs and Brandon Gargac tied for top Jonathan Alder scores with 77’s.
They were followed by Sammy Ratliff-78, Matthew Fox-82, Brady Fox-83 and Nathan Reynard-96.
Alex Crowe fired a 78 for the Panthers, followed by Logan Bocsy-80, Chase Brackenridge-84, JD Welch-94 and Tyler Ufferman-98.
Lady Monarchs compete
Marysville’s girls golfers placed 13th out of 15 teams at Monday’s Gahanna Invitational.
The Lady Monarchs shot a team score of 383.
New Albany claimed the championship with a course record (Jefferson Country Club) of 284.
Dublin Coffman was the runner-up with a 313, followed by Upper Arlington-320, Olentangy Liberty-325 and North Canton Hoover-329.
Avery Prohaska led MHS with a 90, followed by Olivia Ishmael-96, Emily Williams-98, Cassi Van Dyke-99 and Reese Cordonnier-107.
Triad falls
The Lady Cardinal golfers lost their first match of the season with a 213-265 setback at the hands of Mechanicsburg.
Audra Millice led Triad with a 60, followed by Joni Russell-67, Mahhan McManaway-69, Maddie Campbell-69 and Allie Gregg-69.
