The girls tennis teams from Jonathan Alder and Marysville had mixed results during Tuesday’s matches.
The Lady Monarchs blanked London, 5-0, while Marysville dropped a 3-2 verdict to Delaware Hayes.
Alder results were as follows:
Singles
-Sydney Winslow beat Josephine Davis 6-2, 6-3;
-Maddy Grove defeated Erica Ten 6-0, 6-0;
-Chloe Sullivan downed Brenna Blackburn 6-0, 6-1.
Doubles
-Abigail Watkins and Eliza Watkins topped Meredith Hochestter and Sarah Myer 6-0, 6-0;
-Mary Kate Hipp and Gabby Pollom beat Ciara Coroney and Aubrey Cline 6-2, 6-2.
Marysville, which will host Jonathan Alder today, slipped to 3-7 with its loss.
“The match was a very competitive and hard-fought contest,” said MHS coach Bill Romine. “We lost the first doubles match in two sets, with both going to a tie-breaker.
“The girls battled on all of the courts.”
The Lady Monarchs’ victories came at first and second singles.
Grace Larriuz beat G. Brinkmoller 6-0, 6-2 at first singles.
Lauren Markert won the second singles match with a 6-4, 6-1 verdict over G. Martin.
Other MHS results were as follows:
-Eliza Martin lost to E. Miganou 1-6, 3-6 at third singles;
-The first doubles team of Caroline Geraghty and Ellie Williams fell to R. Haferman and A. Key 6-7, 6-7;
-Krista O’Shelski and Hanna Hogan dropped the second doubles match to K. Breece and S. Midura 4-6, 1-6.
