Alexander Crowe of Fairbanks returned to his winning ways picking up his third victory on the fifth stop of the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf tour at Green Acres Golf Club in Marion recently.
The Panther golfer shot a 3-over-par 63 to enter a three-way tie with Spencer Keller of Galion and Alex Pratt of Pleasant for the top spot.
Crowe struggled on the opening hole, a 126-yard par 3, tapping in a bogey, but was able to answer with a birdie on the 185-yard par-3 second hole to remain even. Crowe held on to par until holes six, seven and eight where the junior golfer struggled collecting three bogeys to close out the front nine with a 3-over-par 33.
On the back nine, Crowe opened with a birdie on the par-3 9th hole and picked up another birdie at the 15th hole, but a double-bogey at the 180-yards 16th hole par-3 ended Crowe’s day in a tie for first in the 16-18 division.
Crowe’s brother, Andrew, finished his day with a 9-over-par 69 to take seventh place in the 16-18 division. Andrew found his one birdie of the day on the 331-yard par-4 15th hole and tapped in 10 pars for the day.
Tyler Ufferman of Fairbanks took 10th place in the 16-18 division with a 12-over-par 72. Ufferman tallied nine pars during the tournament.
In the 13-15 division Chase Brackenridge of Fairbanks turned in a 5-over-par 65 to finish the day in two-way tie with Logan Keller of Galion for first place. Brackenridge picked up a pair of birdies during the win. The first coming at the 160-yard hole 6 par-3 and the second came on hole 15. He also tapped in 10 pars.
Devin Emans of Fairbanks finished in 12th place in the 13-15 division with a 20-over-par 80, while fellow Panther golfer Grady Wisecup finished with a 36-over-par 96.
The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf tour will make its next stop at Kings Mill Golf Course in Waldo.
